Greetings Dear Jacksonian, As a Candidate for President of JSUNAA, Inc., I have enjoyed traveling and speaking with Alumni from across the country. Each opportunity has further confirmed my belief that I am uniquely qualified to lead the Association into our next season of greatness as your next President. My service as the current Southeast Regional Vice President and past President of the Metro Atlanta Chapter demonstrates my leadership skills and experience. To continue the great work of the Alumni Association and reinforce the enormous strides made by previous administrations, I ask for your Vote. Your support and vote for my Presidency is a vote to strengthen our internal infrastructure, develop a sound plan to address the declining membership base and increase external support and funding for JSU. In order for JSUNAA to continue to survive AND thrive, we MUST establish and maintain strong, open and honest lines of communication with the JSU, polish the public image and perception of JSUNAA, fortify our governing documents, galvanize internal and external financial resources, reverse the current membership trends by actively engaging alumni from every generation and geographic location, ensure that student recruitment & retention remains a priority and develop a strategy to give the Association a stronger voice with a greater presence on the local, state and national level. Now is the time for the Alumni Association to rise to its full potential and move forward. With your support, WE can do this. How do we do this? It's As Easy As ABC! ALIGN the Alumni Association with the University to make local, state, national and global decisions that positively affect ONE Jackson State University. BRIDGE the gap between the Alumni and the students of ONE Jackson State University. COLLABORATE with community, civic and educational organizations for the advancement of ONE Jackson State University. This campaign is about the ABCs! I invite you to join our journey into great- ness as we move forward to Align, Bridge and Collaborate for the advancement of ONE JSU! With Tiger Pride, Yolanda R. About Yolanda Born in Hattiesburg, MS, Yolanda lived in several Mississippi towns before her family relocated to Athens, Georgia in 1987. She graduated from Cedar Shoals High School in 1989 and returned to her home state to attend Jackson State University, following in the footsteps of her parents. Enrolled in the dual-degree program, Yolanda received a Bach-elor of Science in Mathematics from JSU as well as a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engi-neering from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA. After 10 years in the industry as a Civil Engineer, she shifted her focus from design to contracts and cur-rently works for Jacobs Engineering Group as a Procurement Officer for the Southeast Region. A resident of Decatur, Georgia, Yolanda is a life member of JSUNAA, Inc. and a

life member of the Metro Atlanta Chapter, Inc. She served as President of the Metro Atlanta Chapter from 2005-2009 and was named Alumnus of the Year in 2006 and 2010. During her presidency, chapter membership increased and more effective communication methods were estab-lished with a centralized email distribution list that the chapter still uses today. Also, during her tenure, the chapter website was professionally designed and fundraising reached an all-time high. Other service on the local level includes As-sistant Secretary from 2003-2005 and chair of several committees including the well-known, highly successful Scholarship Jazz Brunch. Under Yolanda’s lead-ership, the Jazz Brunch sponsorships increased by 500%. Currently in her second term as Southeast Regional Vice President, Yolanda also served as a Southeast Regional Board Member in 2009-2010. Through her dedi-cation and persistence, in 2012 the Southeast Region conducted its first regional conference in over 10 years. The Regional Motto is, “Building a Strong Region By Building Stronger Chapters”. Un-der Yolanda’s guidance, the Southeast Region has become a more cohesive unit with chapter presidents collaborat-ing across state lines and engaging in friendly competition. An active member of Saint Philip African Methodist Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Yolanda serves on the Richard Al-len Usher Board, is trained as a Small Group Study leader for Crown Financial Ministries and is a past President of the Young Adult Ministry. She is also an active member of the Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is currently the chair of the Nominating Committee.
