> MADE IN INDIA. MADE FOR THE WORLD

The relative low cost but high tech facilities with a huge

population of technically educated and skilled manpower ensured that India remained in the forefront of valueengineering - developing frugal technologies whichcombines the best of engineering and a competitive price, thereby opening multiple vistas and markets within pricesensitive and developing nations.

The Indian electrical equipment industry, US$22.5Bn in2011-12, comprises of generation equipment (boilers, turbines, generators) and transmission & distribution (T&D) and allied equipment like transformers, cables, transmis-sion lines, switchgears, capacitors, energy meters, instrument transformers, surge arrestors, stamping and lamination, insulators, insulating material, industrialelectronics, indicating instruments, winding wires, etc.

India’s exports of electrical equipment were around US$ 4.6 billion in 2011-12.
