Elastopir® has been developed to meet growing demands for composite panels with improved fire-protection properties, thus making it possible to build industrial buildings as well as cold stores that are both energy-efficient and safe. In residential buildings, Elastopir® is used in lamination boards and these are mainly applied for pitch and flat roof insulation, as well as cavity wall and floor insulation.

    High quality panels

Elastopir® provides superior fire rating and extra-high temperature stability.

Thanks to BASF’s patented Fixed Poker technology, the application of the liquid PU mixture is smooth and trouble-free, providing panels with excellent surface quality.

    Superior Processing efficiency

High operational efficiency minimizes production wastage. Coupled with superior, on-site technical support by highly trained experts ensure all your requirements are fulfilled – letting you focus on what you do best.

    Enhanced environmental sustainability

BASF’s Elastopir® material is CFC and HCFC free, making it a solution with low global warning potential.

    Contributing to a sustainable future

Breaking new ground in plastics waste recycling

Consumers use and dispose plastic products

    (e.g. packaging, tyres)

Pyrolysis oil is purified to be used as feedstock at the beginning of

    BASF’s Verbund production

Waste companies collect and sort the waste and supply BASF’s technology partners with it

Our customers use these chemicals to make their own products

Our partners convert the plastic waste into pyrolysis oil through a thermochemical process

BASF can allocate the recycled feedstock to all chemicals produced in this Verbund via a certified mass balance approach.

Through BASF’s ChemCyclingTM project, we are collaborating closely with our customers and partners to build a circular value chain for plastics, turning plastic waste into virgin-grade high performance materials.

Together, we contribute to a more sustainable tomorrow.
