Leopold Primary School Mission
Welcome back! Here we go, term 4, full of colour and movement, as we stretch our way to the end of
the year.
Learning to do, know, be and live together! Our place to shine Costa Hall Wednesday night 12th October. As part of our Bully stoppers/ Mission possible concert our fabulous grade 5 students will introduce the concert and by doing so tune the audience into the many themes and mantras which guide, support and strengthen our LPS community. Thank you Gr 5 team!
New playground surface. The Preps are relishing the new soft fall surface under the playground equipment.
Changes to our assemblies. The student school leaders and Jan Rollinson are constantly looking to make our assemblies relevant, inspiring and entertaining. This term we have decided to change it up, look outside the box and stretch our capabilities. We will change the dates and participation and then in turn the items presented. Assemblies this term will be delivered every three weeks, rather than two, and our assemblies will no longer be in two halves, changing over to whole school assemblies. Assemblies in term 4 - Prep to Grade 6 Whole school- Starting at 2:30- 3:15 pm. Week 3 –Monday 17th October. Week 6 - Monday 7th November Week 9 – Monday 28th November Week 12 - Monday 19th December.
2017 Students to Grades. The 2017 student placements to new grades will be commencing soon. If you have specific information in regard to peers whom your child should not be placed with in 2017, then please write to Jan Rollinson (Principal). Requests will be received from Monday October 10th until Friday October 21st. Any requests after this date will not be accepted. Please note that we cannot accommodate requests for specific teachers. While we appreciate you may feel that your child should be with a specific friend, teachers have the professional knowledge in regard to how friendship dynamics play out within a classroom. Student’s personal / friendship relationships do not always mean the relationship is good for learning, therefore, we ask parents only to submit requests for peers your child should not be placed with. This year we will be using a software program to generate classes. Parameters will be placed into the system that include – teacher recommendations, reasonable parent requests, appropriate student requests and additional information from the admin-istration team including any students on the PSD program. Regards, Jan Rollinson Grade 6 tops 2017 Sample tops will be available to try on tomorrow, Friday 7th October in the Melaluka building.—morning—from 8:30 and after-noon from 3:30.
