    Blessing Your Issue

Issues . Lets be honest. Weve all got them, right? This weeksparasha is called Eikev meaninga heel, the result of and Because in the sense of being on the heel of something else. Straight out of thestarting gate in this week sparasha we ve several beautiful

pictures Abba reveals from HisTorah one subtle reminder fromlast weeks parsha, are we clinging to it? Remember, aspointed out, to cling to YHVHsTorah is to cling to Him, much in

the same way the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years did. She knew it was a high price to pay had she been looked upon with disfavor, but shepushed through the crowd and clung to her Redeemer Yeshuas Tzit -tzitand was healed! Hallelu-YAH! Her womb had suffered much from the issue

of blood, and this week albeit more in a figurative sense, you too had yourshare of issues some explanation.

Inventory your travails over the course of this past week things thatemotionally double us over. A relationship is in the ditch, a job is in thetank, a number of unpayable pile of bills collect on the credenza, youreceived an unfavorable diagnosis from a family doctor you name it, its your issue . In most translations that word reads as fruit , which accurately matches the Hebrew peri . Literally it speaks of the miracle of childbirth.

He will favor you and bless you and multiply you; He will bless theissue of your womb and the produce of your soil, your new grain and wineand oil, the calving of your herd and the lambing of your flock, in the land

that He swore to your fathers to assign to you 1.

Perhaps we read that and mosey on none the richer, but I think theres a greater le sson to be gained here. If we look at the word for womb ,its taken from Strongs# H990, and is the word beh'-ten, meaning to be

hollow ; the belly , especially the womb ; also the bosom or body of anything. Now, consider all the types and places that fruit comes from in

context of your study of Torah. Theres the fruit of

A persons womb, their body, also their works, labor, way, theiractions, deeds, misdeeds, their hands, way, mouth, and lips.

The land, a country, soil, the vineyards, Israel, and the Earth. The LORDs Ta ble , The Spirit.

Notice therelationship here. In the Paleo the word for womb is comprised of a Beit,a Tet, and a Nun. Consulting Dr.

Benners Ancient Hebrew Lexicon reveals this word possesses a two letterroot word Baht , comprised of the Beit and Tet, meaning cracks as adivision taken from the middle of the body. It also means something that is broken up into pieces. So, in the simplest understanding the womb cracks ,

or parts open and the mother then gives birth to her newborn child. However, in a very real way we re all giving birth to things every single day.

In the above Brit Chadasha passage we read that outfrom Lust issues something as well. It comes fromStrongs #G2380 in Greek and is the word thuo ,meaning to set the heart upon, to rush or breathehard as a blowing of smoke, inferring to sacrifice orkill, but is better understood by studying its Hebrew cognate kaw-tar'. Identified as a primitive root fromStrongs #H6999, through the idea of fumigation in aclose place and perhaps thus driving out theoccupants; to smoke , that is, turn into fragrance by fire (especially as an act of worship): - burn (incense,

sacrifice) (upon), (altar for) incense, kindle, offer (incense, a sacrifice)

better known as worship . Our lips open, out pour either praises or curses, but either way our mouths issue out the fruit of what who we worship whether good or bad. Concerning the relationship between the mouth andthe heart we read his mouth speaks what overflows from his heart 3. The

heart is supposed to be cultivated like thesoil 4. Our thoughts and appetites, our words and our hearts, our hands and ourfeet are all instruments used in worship

of our King Yeshua, or of something we ve rebelliously replaced Him with

which is why YHVH said He was a jealous God 5. In the Decalogue He said You shall have no other gods beside Me 6 which makes sense now when He drawsreference to the pagan deities namedafter their grain ( dagan ), wine ( tirosh ),

calving ( sheger ), and lambing ( ashtarot ),[which] are also names of Semitic deities 7. The same word often was used torefer both to a deity and a phenomenon which that deity was thought tocontrol or personify 8.

    Fruit Unto Holiness

At the beginning of this portion Moses said Wherefore it shall cometo pass 9, if or more accurately because you

give heed to these judgments, and keep , and do them .

See, YHVH is about building a vessel of clay (Tet) that is able to intelligently (Beit-Nun, Ben son, child) receive HisTorah and walk that out; so when time

comes that we break apart ( Beit- Tet, Baht ), whether in times of adversity or joy, we can issue forth Life ( Nun )which is His fruit of Holiness ! But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness , and the end everlasting life 10.

    A Kosher Snare

We read (Deu 7:16) You are to devour all thepeoples that Adonai your God hands over to you -show them no pity, and do not serve their gods, because that will become a trap for you. The word

used here for devour istaken from Strongs#398 and is the

word aw-kal'. Itmeans to eat, consume,

burn up, feed, and dine. Butidiomatically we understand it to mean destroy or take for a prey. Thisnoun is a basic word for food. It first occurs in Genesis 14:11 referring to thespoils of war. The primary use of the term is in theJoseph account (Gen.41-47). It seems throughout to

refer to food seen as a necessity of life, vital. It is usedparticularly of that which The LORD provides 11.

In the Paleo we obtain yetanother beautiful picture of YHVH s mind. Withinthis word is the 2-letter root word found in the Kaf-Lamed connection, or Kahl and it means Vessel,Complete, or Whole . So, just like the picture of the womb we previously studied, God is still revealingthe work He is doing with us as clay vessels, Heempowers us to hear, trust and obey His word sothat we will recognize the things He places in front of us are designed to

make us whole! Is it any wonder there s an Alef on the front of this word?Observe this verse Yeshua spoke some thousands of years after YHVH gavethis commandment to our ancestors just east of the Jordan River. Yeshuasaid,

In the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon the Kaf-Lamed 2-letter root wordagain reveals that the pictograph is a picture of the bent palm

representing the bending or subduing of the will, the is a picture of a shepherd staff or

yoke. Combined these mean "tame for the yoke". An animal or land that is tamed has been worked and is complete and ready foruse. The Alef placed at the beginning of this

word means strong, power, leader, & yoke but it also means as pointedout by Rabbi Munk the Aleph symbolizes the One and Only, the Eternal, the Omnipotent God 13. See, YHVH puts things in front of us that may look impossible but remember, anything plus God is a majority! God says, consume them the reality is though, if you don t, it will become a snare.

The word here for snare is mo-kashe' and it means a noose (forcatching animals), (literally or figuratively); by implication a hook (for thenose); be ensnared. See, this is bondage all over again which YHVH haddelivered Israel from when He took them out of Egypt the house of bondage. Yeshua said and you shall know the truth, and the truth shallmake you free 14. All Yeshua was trying to tell us is what His Father had been telling our ancestors since the beginning. If you will shema My words

and trust me, then I will make you free. Free from all the things that appearimpossible to overcome and take as a spoil of war. So we all wear a yoke, the question is, who does yours belong to?

    School Days

Growing up in South Carolina, funny I can t remember when westopped but I do remember every morning in homeroom when theannouncements would come over the P.A. The entire class, including ourteacher would stand up next to our desk, place our right hand over ourheart and face the American Flag and in unison Echad recite The Pledgeof Allegiance. At the time I remember a tug on my heart strings as a child with thoughts about horses and gun battles, artistic renderings of George Washington crossing the Delaware, muskets and minute men and Valley Forge. My heart is forever ingrained with the Pledge of Allegiance and I willdie with it proudly wrapped inside the ventricles of my heart in every

heartbeat. I love this land. But I also know that had we not been disciplinedto carve out time every day, year after year to stand and recite the pledge itmost likely would not have the impassioned place it does today.

We are a race of forgetters. We are. Sure, some excel at certainmemory skills, especially as it relates to one s own life experiences butunless you ve made it a career or just a select few who are compelled tostudy it, most of our recollections of history are spotty . Don t feel bad, butknow that you do have a responsibility to know which is why YHVH

    instructed Moshe to Remind Israel,

Beware lest you forget the LORD your God by not keeping Hiscommandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I amcommanding you today; (Deu 8:11 NAS)then your heart becomes proud, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. (Deu 8:14 NAS)

The word in Hebrew is shaw-kakh', and it means to mislay , that is, to be oblivious of, from want of memory or attention. Interestingly, we werespeaking just moments ago about traps. The two-letter root word Shach found in the Shin-Chet literally means sharp walls, a pit dug into theground for the purpose of trapping someone or something 15. The middle

letter Kaf is a picture of a bent hand, and among other things means toallow . When we choose to forget YHVH s Torah, we are allowing ourselvesto fall into a pit with high walls, to become trapped. Sadly, this is true and what s worse, many times of our own making.

    To Walk in His Ways

The good news is that even though we sometimes fall into a pit, YHVH gives us a way out! He says "For if you are careful to keep all thiscommandment which I am commanding you, to do it, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and hold fast to Him ; then the LORD willdrive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess nationsgreater and mightier than you 16. Remember us discussing issues at the beginning of today s teaching, and how we remember the

woman whoclung to Yeshua s Tzit-tzit. Here it is again and hold fast to Him the word used here is the sameexact word, daw-bak' . Simply defined it meansto adhere to, to join or stick to someone orsomething. As the old sayin goes, Stick to yer

guns . Your guns, as I was taught were your principles. Our principles thatdefine us are found in YHVH s Torah. They define us as His people, asovercomers, and as a people forever remembering His Word so that we willalways recognize who we are, where we came from, and how we arrived inHis land of blessing. May we remember and never forget.
