Please Pray

for the Sick

Newly Added to the Sick List

James Malley

Prayer for the Faithful Departed

Dear God, death, as much as birth, is a part of the circle of life.

Hear our prayers for those who have died: those who have died sud-

denly; people who have been victims of violence or war; men, wom-

en, and children who have died because of disease, famine, or neglect; and

especially our dear departed loved ones. Give us comfort in our grief, and

hope in your eternal love. May all those who have served you on earth

share in the fullness of joy in your heavenly kingdom. Bring us all to the

glory of the resurrection. Amen.

And those who

care for them...

An Ash Wednesday Prayer "Ashes to ashes ~ Dust to dust"

You remind us today, oh Lord, of our origin and end. In the

beginning, You fashioned us in the Garden. You dignified dust

with the Breath of Life. You made us in Your image and likeness.

You led Your people through the dust of the Sinai wilderness to

the Promised Land. You overcame temptation in the dry desert.

You healed the blind with dirt and clay. Three times Your body

stirred the dust as you fell on the road to Calvary. Hear the cry of Your

people! One day we will return to dust. This Lenten season, stir our minds

to contemplate You, our hearts to love You, and our bodies to serve You in

our brothers and sisters. May our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving be Your

breath alive in us. Amen.

Communion for the

Homebound

Did you know that we have

parishioners who will bring Holy

Communion to those who are

unable to attend Mass? If you

have a family member or a

neighbor who is homebound,

please contact the Parish

Office at 752-9611. Arrange-

ments will be made for a visit.

A Family Perspective

Today Jesus tells us: “Why do

you see the speck in someone else’s

eye but miss the log in your own

eye?” It’s always easier to try to

change someone else than face the

things in ourselves which need

change. What a waste of time. We

can’t change anyone but ourselves.~

Bud Ozar

A friendly reminder....Behind

every door there is a

story of some hardship.

Whether it be an ill-

n e s s , a d d i c t i o n ,

depression, poverty,

unemployment, loneliness, or any

other issue, a small act of kindness

from a stranger, neighbor, friend or

family member goes a long way!

Sometimes just a smile or a “hello”

can make a persons day or possibly

even change or save a life. Be that

person that makes a difference. Try

to do at least 1 thing a day that

makes a difference in someone’s

life. Even if it’s just holding the

door open for two people rather

than one. Your actions will make

an impact! God Bless!

Ash Wednesday

Good stewards realize they really

don't own anything. It all belongs

to God. It is not so much that God

owns them, but they are not ours

because we are called to offer them

to him. The reality is that you and

I were born naked and with noth-

ing. We will die naked and with

nothing. If we really could possess

something material, there would be

a way to take it with us. But alas,

it all slips through our grasp and

passes away. And even though all

of us came from dust and to dust

we will return, through Jesus

Christ we will live forever in a per-

fect state. The only thing we can

take with us? Our hearts and

whether or not we loved.
