The annual Inter-House Gala, held on 15 January, marked the beginning of the school year and a busy term of sporting activities. Bishop House won the gala and Martin House won the Spirit Trophy. It was a record-breaking gala too, with eight Rand Park swimming records being broken. Final points were as follows: Bishop 579, Martin 537, Lourie 447, Shrike 394.

Grade 8 Inauguration The annual Grade 8 orientation week culminated in the symbolic candle-lighting ceremony which signified the beginning of a new chapter for our junior learners who joined us in Grade 8 this year. The Grade 8s presented their song, written by the Leaders, to their parents at Friday evening’s inauguration to great applause. We welcome every new learner across our grades and wish you well during your high school years at Rand Park.

Please see the textbook lists on the d6 or the school’s website for details of payment requirements. Learners must present their receipts to their subject teacher in order to receive their textbook/setwork.

School Physical Education (PE) Requirements

Parents are requested to review the PE Policy and kit requirements posted on the d6 under RESOURCES. Grades 9 to 11 girls must bring their swimming costumes and towels to PE during this term. Grade 9 to 11 boys must bring normal PE kit. Grade 12 boys and girls are to bring their swimming costumes and towels.

Morning & Afternoon Drop-off & Collection of Learners

We appeal to all parents and school transport service providers to refrain from parking on street corners, double-parking and obstructing our neighbours’ driveways. We are unable to alter the road infrastructure in the area and therefore have to exercise patience and caution during peak traffic times before and after school hours.
