DARS - Free Flow Tolling System - 1

EUR 51m loan for the purchase and implementation of electronic toll collection (“ETC”) system for heavy vehicles (>3.5 tonnes).
Loan to DARS, the State-owned motorway operator, assisted by EFSI (portfolio) guarantee.
DarsGo units (installed inside vehicles) and road gantries allow completely automatic tolling, with price based on the distance driven.
The system applies to the entirety of Slovenian motorways, and supports inter-operability with other countries.

Positive environmental impact (removing the local pollution and congestion at the physical toll barriers).
Supports application of “user pays” and “polluter pays” principles (sustainable mobility in EU policy).
Integrated with data system of the company, allowing streamlining of internal processes and increased efficiency.
