Prerequisite : What course do I need to have taken before I enroll in this course?
Corequisite: If it is a year long course, it’s corequisite will be the other semester of the class.
●Students can work on their plan while looking at the courses any time of day from any computer on Career Cruising
●24/7
●Spend time on their own looking at courses and choices
What if you have questions?
●After consulting the enrollment book, if you have questions:○ Stop by to see us during parent/teacher
conferences■ Friday from 730-330
○ Email us [email protected] OR [email protected] OR [email protected]
○ Call us 794-4155
●REVIEW your graduation requirements (on the back of their enrollment sheet) to determine which courses to take next year. The enrollment sheet they have should help narrow down the choices!
●TALK to your students about their course selections
●SELECT courses that correspond to your goals for the future. (ex. courses for college admissions or NCAA)
ON CAREER CRUISING, THEY CAN PLAN OUT ALL FOUR YEARS
● Schedule Change Rules
● Schedule changes will only be made for the following reasons:
● A. There is an ERROR (computer or office error)
● B. You have not met prerequisites.
● Remember: if you are CAPABLE and COMMIT to a course, you are expected to COMPLETE the course.
● Course selection represents a commitment on the part of the student and parent to complete the classes chosen. Thus, students and parents should carefully weigh the student’s past performance, teacher recommendations, ability, motivation, and extracurricular activities when selecting courses for the coming year.
Alternates….what are they?
● For every elective they choose, they must choose 1 alternate.
● These are classes that we will try if the first choices do not fit or if a class is full.
● If these classes are placed in their final schedule – your student will have to take them.
● Please consider your options carefully.
● Alternates can be year long or semester no matter the length of the elective class.
When is enrollment due?●Enrollment forms need to be completed and signed by
Thursday, March 5th
It needs a parent signature!
●EHS Counselors will be at EMS on March 5th to help students enter choice in Career Cruising and to collect the signed forms
If your signature page is not turned in, your enrollment is not final. We will choose classes for anyone who does not complete their enrollment.
Thank you!
●Our goal is to help students choose the classes they need to reach their goals!
