EgyptHuman Environment Interaction

The environment of Egypt is mainly dessert. Egypt is part of the Sahara desert, which means it is hot and dry. The Nile River runs through Egypt.People have adapted to their environment by

living close to the Nile River and not in the desert.People in Egypt have modified their environment

by digging canals and irrigation ditches. The people in Egypt depend on the Nile River for a

source of water and food. That is one reason why Cairo has so many people living in it.

One of the effects of changes in the environment is that if you have irrigation ditches you can grow crops.

FUN FACT: Cairo is home to Africa’s only subway.
