Report Broker Overview• Set up reports to be

scheduled.• Distribute via e-mail,

printer or DB2 web Query folder.

DB2 Web Query SDK• Generate the WSDL file.• Consume the web service in EGL.• If populating drop down lists XML files will need

to be written out.• Read the XML files and populate the dropdown

lists.• The combo boxes are dynamically loaded when

a value is selected in the previous dropdown.• When the ‘run’ button is clicked, this calls the

web service passing parameters.• The output is returned to the screen.

DB2 Web Query SDK Continued• The web service signs on to DB2 web

query and calls the report you have specified.

• If the procedure called is a graph then another web service must be called to retrieve the image in a byte array.

• Because the original web service will return the location of the image (not the image itself).

Report Broker integration• Report broker can also be called with web

services.• A web service must be called to retrieve a

security token from the scheduler and stored.• Another web service can then be called using

the security token and the schedule name, to retrieve the schedule information.

• Finally the schedule can then be run from another web service call.
