WELCOME
HEILBRONN
TO
ARRIVAL
I - PLANE
There are 3 major airports in the area: Stuttgart (int. Code: STR), Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC). These should cover everyones route all over Europe and offer a great connection to Heilbronn by train (see below).
I I I - BUS/CAR
As the championship is in the center of Heilbronn, parking lots are extremly rare. We recommend you leave your car at your hotel‘s parking lot for the entire weekend. All the listed hotels are only a few minutes away from the tournament and can easily be reached by tram; most are even within walking distance (see list of hotels).
Note: If you are travelling by bus, we strictly recommend you ask for bus-parking when booking your hotel. Most of the hotels have underground parking so busses cannot enter. There are some spots where you can leave the bus after you drop off your delegation at the hotel - but they are slightly off the beaten track. If none of the hotels can help you, feel free to contact us, so we can find a solution.
I I - TRA IN
Germany offers a greatly developed network and with the additional high speed train „Intercity Express“ you can reach the big cities all over the country in no time. On the right is a map of this particular ICE-network.
Don‘t mind the colours - grey, yellow, blue, red show the trains‘ speed limits between 200 and 300 km/h.
Your target is Stuttgart in the south. From there you have a regular connection to Heilbronn every 20 min. This last stage takes about 45 min.

Heilbronn
MOVING AROUND HNOnce you arrive at the central station, you can take the tram S4 (directions Weinsberg / Öhringen / Schwäbisch Hall), which connects all the listed hotels and the Mönchseehalle, where the tournament takes place. The bus line 1 covers the same route and works as well, but with some luggage we recommend you take the tram.
On check-in (Thursday) each delegation will receive a package with useful information, schedules for tram & bus, cultural background of Heilbronn, sightseeing opportunities, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, city maps and (if ordered) your tickets for public transport.
TICKETS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Our goal is your full satisfaction during your visit. Hence we managed to establish a cooperation with our local traffic agency „HNV“ and are happy to offer this special service to you. For this championship all athletes, coaches and officials can obtain a special ticket, which provides unlimited transport by all busses and trams throughout the HNV-Network, covering about 3.200 km².
This ticket is valid from Wednesday to Monday and costs 5,00 Euro per person only. In comparison: a regular one-way ticket within Heilbronn is at 2,20 Euro.
These tickets can be ordered by the attached form and are payable together with the participation fees by bank transfer or cash (see registration details). If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.
