Effect of Camera work on my target audience Close up shots- The close up shots represent the emotional state of the character as this is shown through facial expressions. This makes the audience feel empathy for the character which draws the audience in to the trailer.

Long shot- The long shots within my trailer are frequently used to show the couple walking together. This expresses the intimacy and the attraction between them. The long shots allow the audience to see the character’s body language which for example if they’re holding hands, this body language is conventional for genre and allows the audience to see the romance.

Two shot- A two shot represents the attraction between the couple and it is significant of the intimacy of the relationship. A two shot allows the audience to see the romance between them and the idea of having both the characters together in one frame represents their closeness.

Effects of editing on my audience Graphic match- The graphic match in the trailer is from a close up of the males face to a transition of the moon. This graphic match is conventional as the moon is a symbol of romance- this soft transition effect slows the trailer to the end and this allows the audience to feel the romantic mood this editing gives off.Transition effects- Between most frames, I have used a transition effect which is either a fade to white or a fade to black dependent on the content of the following frame. The fading is a soft and gentle transition which makes it conventional to genre. The gradual transition draws the audience into the trailer as it highlights the dramatic scenes (where I have used the white fade) which exaggerates the trailer.

Frame effects- Through using adobe premier elements I was able to use the effects tool which enabled me to use effects on each frame. On almost every frame I have used a soft hazy effect which alters the brightness and saturation etc. so that it gives off a warmer colour. The hazy warm effect creates a romantic effect on the frames which produces a positive effect which is reflected onto the audience.

Effect of sound on my audience Non diegetic sound- The non-diegetic music builds up towards the middle of the trailer and the music is an emotional song and the scenes match the music and therefore makes the trailer interesting for the audience to watch. The music makes the audience feel empathy for the characters and therefore draws the audience into the trailer.

Diegetic sound- The use of the diegetic sound is to illustrate the storyline further for the audience so that they get a stronger insight into the story. The use of the diegetic sound from the scenes allow the audience to hear what the characters sound like and they gather an insight into the characters persona which makes them invest in the characters- making them want to see the film.

Effect of mise en scene on my audience Clothing- The use of clothing is representative of their genders and personalities and I have tried to keep to stereotypical representations of men and women using the clothing here. The male is dressed in fitted tops to make his physique stand out whereas the female is dressed in lighter clothing to create a feminine appearance. Making the characters more conventional and stereotypical makes the trailer more aesthetically pleasing for the audience.

Props- An example of a stereotypical prop was the females handbag in the first scene. This makes the female representative of a very feminine character and this is what the audience want to see- the female being feminine and the male being masculine.

Setting- I tried to use as romantic setting as possible for the opening scene which was shot on the beach. The beach is conventional for romance and this is why I used this location for my third draft of the trailer. I also used a low lit restaurant for one scene and a sunset scene for another as these scenes because of the low key lighting create a romantic mood which makes the trailer more attractive to the audience as it is conventional and it makes it pleasing to watch.
