I. GENERAL POLICY
This report covers the period from August 1, 2009 through July 31, 2010.
ABC Radio Los Angeles Assets, LLC, licensee of KSPN-AM (“KSPN”), and Radio Disney Group, LLC,
Licensee of KDIS-AM (“KDIS”) (collectively, the “Stations”) have a longstanding commitment to a policy
of equal employment and advancement opportunities for all employees and applicants for employment
without regard to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, marital status,
covered veteran status, mental or physical disability, pregnancy, or any other basis prohibited by state
or federal law. This commitment to fair employment practices applies to every aspect of the
employment process to ensure that equal consideration is extended to all employees and applicants in
recruitment, selection procedure, employee development, performance evaluation, promotions,
transfers, benefits and other aspects of employment.
It is KSPN’s and KDIS’s policy to promote the realization of equal employment opportunity through a

II. RESPONSIBILITY
Chris Berry, Vice President and General Manager of KSPN, is the EEO officer at KSPN responsible for the
administration and implementation of our Equal Employment Opportunity Program and the accuracy of
the information documented in this report. Natalie Eig, Station Manager of KDIS, is the EEO officer at
KDIS responsible for the administration and implementation of our Equal Employment Opportunity
Program and the accuracy of the information documented in this report.
III. INTERNAL RECORD KEEPING, PUBLICITY AND POSITIONS FILLED
In compliance with EEO rules, the Stations have widely publicized all full-time job vacancies throughout
the reporting year. All such vacancies, whether at KDIS (which does not have its own website) or at
KSPN, were posted on the KSPN website, 710ESPN.com/ESPNLA.com. In addition, all such vacancies
were posted on The Walt Disney Company websites disneycareers.com and/or disneyjobs.com, as well
as (for ESPN jobs) on the ESPN career website espncareers.com; on the Southern California Broadcasters
Association (SCBA) website; and in the SCBA job bank newsletter for electronic transmission to the SCBA
group of schools and organizations listed on Attachment “A”.
KSPN and KDIS also maintain a distribution/contact list of local community-based organizations and
schools to which notices of all available full-time positions are sent. The Stations’ current local

distribution/contact list is included as Attachment “B”. This list is updated periodically. The Stations
have asked interested organizations to notify the Stations if they wish to be placed on the Stations’ local
distribution/contact list. During the reporting year, organizations for the Stations’ mailing list were
solicited through a combination of a notice on the KSPN website, periodic on-air announcements, and a
classified advertisement in the Tolucan Times on October 7, 2009.
In addition, ABC Media Networks Human Resources department has contracted with The Direct
Employers Association to distribute notice of all full-time Radio Disney positions to Direct Employers’
network of hundreds of organizations that cater to students, alumni, veterans, minorities, disabled
individuals, and individuals seeking employment information.

2; Disney employee referral – 1; Internal Candidate/IC – 1; Temp Position Candidate - 1. The
candidate hired was an Internal Candidate/IC referral.
IV. LONG TERM RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES
KSPN and KDIS are committed to performing at least four of the long-term EEO recruitments set forth in
the FCC’s EEO rules within a two-year period. From August 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009, KSPN and
KDIS participated in the following long-term recruitment initiatives:
A. Participation in Job Fairs – KSPN and KDIS participated in the following job fairs by staffing a
booth with company personnel responsible for hiring decisions, distributing information about
careers in radio, soliciting applications, informing attendees of job postings and encouraging
them to go to school and participate in internships, collecting resumes, and answering
questions:
• ESPN West Coast Career Fair – On Tuesday, January 5, 2010 beginning at 8:30 am, KSPN’s
Vice President/General Manager, Chris Berry, met at the Olympic Collection with college
students from a 16-school consortium who were studying digital media, radio, TV,
journalism and film. The discussion focused on production, technology, graphics/animation,
and writing.
• Spring 2010 Career Fest - On Friday, February 5, 2010 from 11am to 1pm, at the USC
Campus, Laura Behrman, KDIS Promotion Director, met with students interested in a career
in broadcasting. Students brought their resumes and Laura met with them and offered
advice and guidance for a career in broadcasting.
• Career Fair at USC School for the Cinematic Arts – On March 23, 2010 from 1-5pm, Laura
Behrman, Promotion Director for KDIS, attended a job fair at the USC School of Cinematic
Arts. Students had the opportunity to meet with businesses related to the communication

and broadcast industry for one-on-one interaction, to distribute resumes and to meet with
industry professionals.
• 27th Annual Annenberg Career Connection – USC Campus – On April 1, 2010 from 5-8pm,
Laura Behrman, Promotion Director for KDIS attended this job fair, which draws
professionals from entertainment, advertising and marketing agencies, public relations,
corporations and industries such as consulting, healthcare, not-for-profit and technology.
The professionals attending were given a book containing resumes of Annenberg students.
The students had the opportunity to meet the professionals for one-on-one interaction and
career advice.
B. Internship Program – During this reporting period KSPN offered college students the
opportunity to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment while obtaining course credit.
Curriculum for the internship program is as follows: ESPN Overview, Production Training,
Production Assignments, Beginning Producer Skills, New Media Training, and Shadowing
Reporters. Our internship program runs on a college semester basis. Each intern works
approximately 15 hours a week. Over the reporting year, KSPN had six interns, whose career
goals ranged from sports reporter or announcer to television or producer. Following is a list of

C. Participation in scholarship programs directed to students desiring a broadcast career – Chris
Berry, Vice President/General Manager, KSPN, and Natalie Eig, Station Manager, KDIS,
participated in the Southern Broadcasters Association 2010 Scholarship Program. They
reviewed and provided input to select one of the candidates provided by Cal State Los Angeles
for SCBA's "Ben Hoberman Radio Broadcasting Award," “George Nicholaw Radio Broadcasting
Award,” and “Stan Spero Radio Broadcasting Award.” The scholarship committee selected
Maria Chaires as the 2010 recipient of the Ben Hoberman Radio Broadcasting Award, Steve
Delamater as the 2010 recipient of the George Nicholaw Radio Broadcasting Award, and Gary
Young as the 2010 recipient of the Stan Spero Radio Broadcasting Award.
D. Participation in mentoring programs – KSPN and KDIS participated in the following mentoring
program and events sponsored by community groups active in broadcast employment issues,
including conventions, career days, workshops and similar activities:

• February 27, 2010 from 9am-noon at CBS Studios in Studio City, CA– Natalie Eig, Station
Manager, KDIS, and Bobbi Grimm, Sr. Account Executive, KDIS, participated in the American
Women In Radio & Television (AWRT) Speed Mentoring Program, which was designed to
mentor members of the community on the broadcast profession. Natalie and Bobbi
mentored industry professionals and participants who were interested in learning about
broadcasting. The mentoring program was designed to give the attendees a chance to
meet and talk with media professionals on a one-to-one basis. Each mentor sat with a
member of the community for ten minutes before meeting with the next person. During
the talks, mentors offered career advice, accepted resumes and answered questions that
community members had.
• SMG –Sportscasters Mentoring Group – June 4-6, 2010. Larry Gifford, KSPN Program
Director, was a featured presenter at the Sports Broadcasting Jobs Seminar. Larry spoke
about radio station job responsibilities. Brian Long, KSPN Assistant Program Director, was a
panel discussion speaker. The program was billed as: “ESPN execs and others reveal their
insider secrets to landing a sports broadcasting job, earning a promotion, and creating their
own paid sportscasting job.”
E. Participation in programs sponsored by educational institutions – KSPN and KDIS participated
in the following activities relating to broadcast career opportunities:
• Long Beach Polytechnic High School - March 29, 2010 at noon – At the invitation of Harry
Pieczenik, instructor at LB Poly, Brandon Graham, Promotions Coordinator at KSPN, spoke to
a Sports Marketing class about marketing, broadcasting, sales and administration. In his
talk, he attempted to show the students another side to sports and to teach them that they
could pursue a career in sports even if not on the field.
• Career Day – June 11, 2010 – George Flora, Local Sales Manager of KSPN, attended a Career
Day at 122nd Street Elementary School in Los Angeles. The goal was to encourage the kids
to go to college. George participated by meeting the teachers at 8am, followed by a student
orientation at 8:45am...then went to a classroom to take turns with other participants and
discuss what he does at work, the physical and educational requirements, how computers
and information play a role and the importance of a college degree. This was followed by
lunch with the teachers at noon.
• Careers @ 4 PR & Communication Career Day– USC University Park Campus: On Monday,
November 9, 2009 from 4-6pm, KSPN VP/GM Chris Berry and KDIS Promotion Director,
Laura Behrman, were invited to share tips and information that would help students
understand and investigate a career in broadcasting.. The event was a fun, interactive
learning experience for all who attended. The goals of the event were to introduce students
to specific professional industries and help them understand what they could expect in
pursuing a career in broadcasting and the communications field.
F. Participation in training to management-level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal
employment opportunity and preventing discrimination - KDIS participated in the following
training regarding EEO & Harassment in the workplace:
• Sexual Harassment Law Seminar and EEO Training Seminar – hosted by the California
Broadcasters Association on March 23, 2010 from 9am to noon at the Sheraton Universal
Hotel. Natalie Eig, KDIS Station Manager, attended the seminar hosted by labor and

employment attorney, Jeff Owensby. The seminar was designed to provide training to
management personnel on current state and federal law regarding methods to avoid
harassment situations and ensure a compliant workplace. The seminar was also designed to
provide training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal
employment opportunity and preventing discrimination.
• EEO Workshop, “Understanding How to Utilize the Southern California Broadcasters
Association with Your Employees While Fulfilling Your EEO Option Compliance” workshop –
hosted by the American Women in Radio and Television So Cal Chapter and Southern
California Broadcasters Association – September 23, 2009 at the Burbank Public Library.
Natalie Eig, KDIS Station Manager, attended. This workshop was designed to train station
management on proper EEO Outreach efforts and how working with the Southern California
Broadcasters Association can assist in the outreach efforts.
G. Listing Each Upper-Level Opening with Media Trade Group – As mentioned in Section III above,
all full-time positions at the Stations were posted with a wide variety of job banks and
newsletters of media trade groups with a broad-based membership that includes women and
minorities. These included the Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) website and
the California Broadcasters Association (CBA) website.
