Interns answerphones and listen to police scanners.Students get the chance to see the innerworkings of the news department andlearn what it takes to cover/research astory. We also assist interns in puttingtogether their first resume tape. Internstypically work 16 hours per week inthe Fall and Spring (24 in theSummer). They have three assignmentsthat must be completed. They write andedit a VO, VSot and write/edit and tracka package. During this reportingperiod 6 interns worked at KETV.

The event started withall 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade studentshearing an introduction from all of thevolunteers. After that the students werebroken down into four groups ofstudents where Davonte was given theopportunity to speak with each groupabout the Broadcasting Industry, whathe does as a reporter, how mucheducation it takes to become a reporteror anchor and what it is like going out tocover stories and do you work fromhome? These were a few of thequestions asked at the event. Davonteused a hands on approach and had themuse a teleprompter and then spoke tothem in their ear to show them how real-life IFB works for the reporters/anchorsas they get information from varioussources while on the air. 12:45-3PM.
