Responsibilities:

Performs necessary repairs and adjustments to systems and components to ensure the proper operation of production machinery and equipment. Maintains and repairs all racking systems and safety systems including performing of audits.

Analyzes, diagnoses, and trouble shoots problems, determines the extent of, and makes repairs. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned.

Operates drill press, lathe, milling machine, sheet metal breaks, shears, and other equipment used in fabrication or modification of machine parts and guarding. Operates mig, tig, and arc welding equipment.

Fits black iron pipe, copper pipe, and tubing includes cutting, threading, and soldering while working from scissor lifts, ladders, catwalks, or in confined spaces.

Perform a variety of routine duties which involve a number of manual and other related operations to include department wax tank preparation, coloring wax, and similar designated duties requiring somewhat more complex operations. In addition, the Wax Prep Specialist will perform duties of a candle maker to support the production of all YCC candle styles as needed. Duties may include, interpreting schedules, calculating formulas, transferring raw materials, and using colorants. May use some manual and automated equipment including basic hand tools, temperature gauges, wax tanks, pumps, and hoses. Position also includes the use of raw materials such as ultraviolet inhibitors, paraffin wax, wax hardeners, fragrance oil, and various safety equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

Previous candle making experience strongly preferred. Experience in following and executing cooking recipes, batch mixing, or manufacturing formulas very helpful.

Ability to match and discern colors, color gradations and scents required (Finalists will be administered a standard color vision test as part of the interview process).

Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills a must. Accuracy, thoroughness, and ability to prioritize are critical.

Demonstrated willingness to take on responsibility and work cooperatively with others as well as independently.

The Finance Manager, Supply Chain will be the senior finance employee in Home Fragrance’s Virginia manufacturing & logistics operations, located in Forest (Lynchburg) and Blairs, Virginia, respectively. The role will interface closely with site operations leaders to monitor financial performance, drive cost improvement and support execution of key business goals and objectives through a combination of project initiatives and day to day management. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and coordinate plant & warehouse monthly forecasts, goals & objectives, financial reconciliations, reports and analysis for site management, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations.

Develop and maintain key performance indicators (“KPI”) to monitor operational performance and business dynamics.

Monitor project progress and measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.

Conducts complex analysis of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products with a strong emphasis on fragrance, wax, polymer additives, ultraviolet additives, antioxidants, and colorants.

Method writing, sample preparing, data analyzing, and overall performance and calibration of the following analytical instruments: gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS), GC-MS/MS, head space, solid phase microextraction (SPME), gas chromatography flame ionization detection (GC-FID), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), FTIR, and viscometer.

Operates simple to the most complex laboratory and analytical equipment, ensuring safety in all aspects of laboratory practices, and ensuring continual learning on all analytical equipment relative methodologies.

Creates and maintains various databases, prepares samples for analysis and physical testing, and wet chemistry methods development.

Work closely with process engineers to help support ESL, MSL, and PPAP. Supports GKM Process by Value Added Testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Science Degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry preferred.

3-5 plus years similar experience, preferably within a manufacturing or CPG environment. Academic knowledge of or experience in polymer chemistry a plus.

Demonstrated scientific, computer, and organizational skills. proficient in MS Office applications,) with knowledge of business related systems; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Shows self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards work and others.

Possesses the ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
