Spirit Week!
Spirit Points Spirit point competitions pit students from different Homerooms against each other to earn spirit points. Help your Class achieve victory!
At McMurray we’re bringing back spirit points in a big way starting with our halloween spirit week! The winning homeroom will win the coveted Mustang SPIRIT trophy (currently housed in Ms. Sweeney’s classroom), an end of the year pizza party, and bragging rights forever!
Spirit PointsYour homeroom class will
design your own Spirit Points chart to hang in the
multi-purpose room. We’ve brought you the basic poster,
but it’s up to your class to make it your own. Have fun with it!

The top 3 class
posters will earn
50 spirit
points!
Spirit PointsPoints are recorded and shared throughout the
year (in the multipurpose room after each event) with a winning
class announced at the final assembly of the year.
Some ways to earn Homeroom Spirit points throughout the year
will be:● Homerooms with most participants in Spirit Week events
● Homeroom with the most participation in our food drive,
● Homerooms with the most fans at school sporting events
and dances● Homerooms that win our competitions
● And others to be announced!

HalloweenDoor Decorating Contest
Instead of hallway decorations, Homeroom classes compete for spirit points to see who has the most creative, non-gory, and original Halloween doorway decor.
General Rules: You can use any items that your homeroom provides, doesn't disrupt the learning environment, and will not damage the door. Roll paper is
provided, but all other supplies are the responsibility of Homerooms.
Any member of a Homeroom class that is caught vandalizing any door at any time will disqualified their entire Homeroom class.
Doors are scored on a scale from 1-5 in the following categories: creativity, theme, originality, positive attitude, and Halloween-ness.

Halloween
Halloween- earn spirit points for these events! Monday: Dress in Halloween colors (orange, black, purple) & music during lunch
Tuesday: Halloween themed Kahoot in multipurpose room
Wednesday: Student vs staff dance competition during lunch in the multi-purpose room
Thursday: Costume contest in multi-purpose room (Home room Door Decoration winners announced!)
Friday: Dia de las Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration
Halloween danceOctober 31st- Right After school
This is the first dance of the year. Make sure to come! You can stay after school and spend some time with your friends before trick-or-treating.
Just make sure to bring 5 dollars for the admission fee.
Movie nightOctober 25th - At the vashon theatre
Make sure to come to the first movie night of the year. You can hang out with your friends and watch a good movie, with no parent permission form required. The
movie we will be showing is Aladdin.
