EECS 31L Introduction to Digital Logic Design Lab Quick Installation Guide for Vivado Design Suite WebPack Edition(Windows) Vivado Design Suite is a software suite produced by Xilinx for synthesis and analysis of HDL designs, superseding Xilinx ISE with additional features for system on a chip development and high-level synthesis. Vivado represents a ground-up rewrite and re-thinking of the entire design flow (compared to ISE), and has been described by reviewers as "well-conceived, tightly integrated, blazing fast, scalable, maintainable, and intuitive". EECS 31L Introduction to Digital Logic Design Lab

Quick Installation Guide for Vivado Design Suite WebPack Edition(Windows)

Vivado Design Suite is a software suite produced by Xilinx for synthesis and analysis of HDL designs,

superseding Xilinx ISE with additional features for system on a chip development and high-level synthesis.

Vivado represents a ground-up rewrite and re-thinking of the entire design flow (compared to ISE), and

has been described by reviewers as "well-conceived, tightly integrated, blazing fast, scalable,

maintainable, and intuitive".

To install Vivado we use the recommended “Windows Self Installer” and the installation procedure is

straight forward by following the steps below.

1- visit https://www.xilinx.com/support/download.html or google “Vivado Download”. Then click on

“Download-Xilinx” result.

2- On the Vivado’s download page scroll down to “Vivado Design Suite - HLx Editions” section. Click on

“Windows Self Extracting Installer”

3- After clicking you will be redirected to a sign in page, click on the “Create your account”

Note: If you weren’t redirected to sign in page follow this link

Fill in the form, and use your @uci.edu email address. Choose a username and password and remember

them. You will need the created user and pass at the time of installation.

After filling the form, check your email and open the new received email. Click on the “Activate your Xilinx

Account”.

Enter username and password and your account will be activated. On the New window you can change

your subscriptions. You can click Opt-out and English and click update.

4- Again repeat steps 1 to 3. This time at the sign in page enter your created username and password.

5- In the new form enter your name and put University of California, Irvine in the part of company name.

Fill the form as it is shown in the picture, choose Job Function as Student and Primary Market as Test and

Measurement. Then click on Next. A web-installer will be downloaded. Click on the installer when it

finished. Wait for it to finish extracting. If you get a message regarding permission for installing, click yes.

5- After the installer opened, click on Next.

On the next page enter your User ID and Password (which you have created) and click on Download and

Install now. Then click Next at the bottom of the page.

6- click on I Agree for all of the items and click next.

7- On the next page click on Vivado HL WebPack and then click next.

8- On the new page without making any change click on Next.

9- Choose your installation directory on the following page. It is recommended to let the installer decide.

If a window regarding there is no such folder exist appeared, click on yes to create that folder

On the next page click install.

10- Wait for the installer to Download, Install and Process the installation. Do not close the installer and

keep your laptop charging during installation to avoid any problem.

After finishing, a message will be appeared as completion of installation. Click OK.
