Dear FrienDs,The time is now. Truly great things are happening at Six Points. For over 30 years, Six Points has been providing life-enhancing services for special needs adults. We have a dedicated staff and wonderful clients. Thanks to the forward-thinking leadership of our Board of Directors, Six Points is engaged in a Capital Campaign to build its first permanent facility. We are more confident than ever in the value of our mission. Fortunately we live in the Gunnison Valley where every individual is valued.

Six Points’ services allow our special needs clients to become fully integrated in the fabric of the community. Without Six Points, our clients would most likely relocate elsewhere to receive the crucial services they need to live full, productive lives.

Our Campaign plan calls for the construction of an 10,000-square-foot building designed specifically for Six Points that will meet the needs of our clients as well as the community. It will ensure the health and viability of Six Points for years to come. The building site neighbors the Gunnison Community Center making it easily accessible to all. The dedicated design and larger space of the new facility will allow us to serve more special needs adults, implement plans and programs that now are only dreams, and provide a bigger and better Thrift Store for our clients’ training and the entire Gunnison valley.

We need your support to build our new facility where we will: • Expand services to private-pay special needs adults • Expand training opportunities for our clients • Increase Thrift Store revenues making Six Points less reliant on ever-decreasing

government funding.

Now is the time. The transformational moment is here. Please give generously to the Six Points Capital Campaign to build a permanent facility. Thank you.

As a parent, I can’t even begin to explain the feelings of gratitude our family feels for the support that has been given our son, Mark, by the Six Points staff. His self esteem grows daily as new doors of opportunity and responsibility are opened to him. The staff understands him – his abilities and disabilities. With the completion of this new facility, I am confident more doors can be opened to the special needs adults in our valley to lift them up, and in doing so, benefit the entire community. Let’s do this now!

Sincerely,Nancy Tredway

“We’re so fortunate that we have the Thrift Store to provide vocational training and jobs for our clients on-site. The Thrift Store is the largest nonprofit second-hand store in the valley. We strongly support the philosophy of reusing and recycling donated goods that might otherwise end up in a landfill.

Six Points has a long tradition of providing free merchandise from the Thrift Store to area schools and other organizations that serve low income and at-risk populations within the valley. Our new facility is designed to dramatically increase all the benefits of the Thrift Store, as well as make it more accessible, visible and respected in the community.”suE uErling,ExECuTIVE DIrECTOr

building Plan

In September 2012, thanks to the generosity of the Tredway Family, Six Points was presented with a unique opportunity to purchase the 10,000-square-foot russell Stover Candy Store facility in Montrose, CO. russell Stover had donated the metal building to the nonprofit organization Habitat for Humanity-Montrose. Habitat for Humanity-Montrose wanted to sell the building to raise some cash for their operations, which was the perfect opportunity for Six Points to get a high-quality

used building at a great price. Plus, the structure is even bigger than the facility original designed for Six Points, which was proposed to be 8,600-square-feet. More importantly, this purchase also supports the re-purpose philosophy that is so paramount to both Six Points and the Gunnison Valley.
