underwater and all closed.
Shikarpur city is flooded with rainwater and

completely occupied by IDPs. In Zahirpir,
Punjab, 04 of the partner schools’ buildings

Education:Due to the flood academic activities are timely disturbed but there are 14 partners’ schools
occupied by IDPs in Shikarpur that are affected by the flood hit. Due to this the academic
activities have completely stopped. This may take months when IDPs will go back.
As a result, a large number of children are deprived of their schools and can’t continue their
studies anymore. In order to resolve the above mentioned issue, these IDPs need immediate
assistance and attention by draining the water that has flooded these villages.

One of our schools in Ghotki has been completely submerged in water, and there is no access to
that school whatsoever.
Schools in PanuAqil are slightly damaged, however the community has been damaged and
disturbed due to flood hit and boats are becoming the means for local transportation and
mobilization of resources.
Need:Food, water, medical and hygiene kits and shelter are among the immediate requirements by
these IDPs. A TLC need to be setup in Ghotki as there are 130 students (50 girls and 80 boys)
studying in open air as well as in Panuaqil/Shikarpu/ Zahirpir and Sadiqabad.
Provision of education to children through TLCs in order to provide temporary shelter
and shift these IDPs to their homes so academics activities can be commence as soon as
possible.
Provision of education supplies (School kit, school tents and recreational kits) in all
affected areas.
Response: Preliminary information from ITA team indicates 5 schools in Shikarpur , 6 in
Ghotki and Panuaqil have been submerged/damaged . While 14 are used as shelter for IDPs, thus affecting the education of more than more than 5000 children.
ITA team is in process of assessing the scale of damages to school and plan to establish TLCs in Shikarpur, Ghotki,PanuAqil and Sadiqabdr in Punjab.
Challenges: Due to the flooded areas verification of the scale of damges of IDPs’ houses
and schools is big challenge.
