How to talk about places you go in Spanish.

Talking about places you go in Spanish is a simple 3 step process. Before we begin, lets look at some common places you may go to.

Step 1. To say where you are going first start with the phrase Yo voy (I go)

Step 2. Next, add a (to)

Step 3. Finally, add the place where you go.

la playa.I go to the beach.

Yo voy a la casa. I go to the house.

Yo no voy a la biblioteca. I don’t go to the library.

Yo voy al cine. I go to the movie theatre.

¿Qué pasa aquí?

In Spanish, when the word a comes before the word el we combine them into the word al as in the following examples.

Yo voy al gimnasio. Yo noy voy al cine mucho. Yo voy al restaurante todos los dias.

Use the phrase ¿Adónde vas?

¿Adónde vas? Yo voy al restaurante.
