Talking about places you go in Spanish is a simple 3 step process. Before we begin, lets look at some common places you may go to.

Step 1. To say where you are going first start with the phrase Yo voy (I go)

Step 2. Next, add a (to)

Step 3. Finally, add the place where you go.

Yo no voy a la biblioteca. I don’t go to the library.

Yo voy al cine. I go to the movie theatre.

In Spanish, when the word a comes before the word el we combine them into the word al as in the following examples.

Yo voy al gimnasio. Yo noy voy al cine mucho. Yo voy al restaurante todos los dias.
