THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN - Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, and Brooklyn, N.y. - based power solutions provider RECOM Power, Inc. announced today that the two companies have entered into an agreement in which Digi-Key will distribute RECOM Power, Inc.’s products to customers worldwide.

RECOM Power, Inc. is a lead-ing supplier of constant current dimmable LED drivers, DC/DC converters, switching regulators, and single, dual, and triple output AC/DC modules. RECOM focuses on providing dedicated product for the industrial controls, lighting, medical,

military (COTS), and telecommunica-tions markets. RECOM products are currently available for purchase on Digi-Key’s global websites and will be featured in future print and online catalogs.

“With this global distribution agreement, RECOM Power, Inc.’s reputation as a leading supplier and Digi-Key’s reputation as a leading global distributor have combined to provide our customers with access to more top-quality product from another world-leading supplier,” said Jeff Shafer, Digi-Key’s vice president of interconnect, passive, and elec-tromechanical products. “We believe

this new partnership with RECOM will affirm Digi-Key’s commitment to working with the world’s foremost suppliers of electronic components.”

“As RECOM’s extensive portfolio of high-end modular power sup-plies continues to grow, so does our need for outstanding distribution partners,” said Christoph Wolf, vice president of sales - Americas for RECOM Power, Inc. “It is with plea-sure that we are joining forces with Digi-Key to offer our solutions to a broader customer base, while mak-ing their selection and use easier for design engineers and our customers worldwide.”

MEADVILLE, PA – Abbatron, LLC, a privately held manufacturer of elec-tronic component parts, announced on Feb. 23 that it has acquired the as-sets of privately-held G&H Industries, Inc. Based in Centreville, Mich., G&H is a designer and manufacturer of high performance audio connectors and cable assemblies. The proprietary designs are primarily used by the audio, broadcast and entertainment industries.

“Combining G&H’s superior designs with Abbatron’s advanced manufacturing capabilities strength-ens our position in the worldwide marketplace,” said Robert Sok, CEO of Abbatron. “Once the acquisition is completed, Abbatron’s product offer-ing will increase from approximately 2100 to 2500 different products.”

G&H Industries, founded in 1987 by Bob Ganger and Paul Haas, both of whom will remain active in the business following the acquisition, provides high performance connec-tors and cable assembly products to the worldwide audio industry. “We are delighted to join forces with Abbatron,” said Paul Haas, president of G&H. “It’s truly a perfect fit. The main benefit is going to be for our customers. We will provide even better service while continuing to provide the most advanced audio con-nectors and cable products available anywhere.”

This is Abbatron’s first major acquisition since acquiring Meadville-based HHSmith and its four sub-sidiaries in 2001. “Our worldwide collaborators are looking forward

to the expanded offering, especially to professional entertainers,” said Sok. “The proprietary oxygen-free copper core in G&H’s audio connec-tors provides cleaner, more efficient signal transmission, with excellent durability. G&H connectors also use a separate ground sleeve connection that will not loosen and cause noise, a major problem with many competi-tive designs.”

Abbatron plans to combine op-erations at their newly renovated Meadville, Pa. facility. “We expect the integration to be fully completed during the second quarter of this year,” said Harold “Skip” Simmons, Abbatron’s president and COO. “The acquisition should create 8 to 10 jobs in Meadville in the near future.”
