Grand Knight Message Which Comes First – The Chicken or the Human Being Hollywood Demands McDonald’s ‘End Agony for Billions of Animals’: ‘We Believe in Standing Up for Those Who Can’t Stand Up for Themselves’ Some 25 actors, models, and professional athletes joined forces for a PSA from Mercy For Animals, urging viewers to demand McDonald’s “eliminate the worst cruelty for their chickens.” Among an assortment of animal rights activists demanding that you “take action,” the video features the likes of actor James Cromwell, electronic music DJ Moby, former NBA star John Salley, and actors Ignacio Serricchio, Mark Hapka, James Kyson, Alexandra Paul, Kimberly Elise, Daisy Fuentes, Daniella Monet, Emily Deschanel, among many others. “Chickens used by McDonald’s are among the most abused animals on the planet,” the group exclaims on its website. “Bred to grow so large so fast, they often can’t walk without pain. Hundreds of brands - including Burger King, Starbucks, Subway, Jack in the Box, and Denny’s - have com-mitted to banning the cruelest practices inflicted on chickens. McDonald’s has not. Let McDonald’s know that animal abuse is bad business.” This star-studded video comes as scores of Hollywood directors, producers, and actors are boycotting states like Georgia and Alabama over their new laws restricting most abortions. In all honesty I have to tell you that I will probably never have all the facts when it comes to the treatment of what may eventually become my next meal. And that is because I have plenty of other, more important issues to concentrate on. The thing to remember here is that Hollywood finds it necessary to ‘stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves’ - not human beings but chickens! Georgia Takes a Bold Stand for Life as Hollywood Elite Threatens Boycott of the State’s Lucrative Film and Television Industry While states like New York pass horrific extreme abortion laws and states like Kansas strike down common-sense pro-life laws in order to allow dismemberment abortions, the state of Georgia has taken the righteous stand to protect babies from the moment a heartbeat is detected. But while we fight to stop other states from passing vile late-term abortion laws, Georgia has chosen to take the right step in the opposite direc-tion, protecting babies as early as possible. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp just signed the “heartbeat bill” HB 481 – also dubbed the LIFE Act – that bans most abortions when the baby has a detectable heartbeat. This generally happens at or around six weeks. In signing this bill into law, Georgia joins Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Dakota, and Ohio in approving bills that protect babies in the early stages of pregnancy. The ACLJ applauds this bold step in the fight for life in our country, which is currently under fire. The ACLJ has been intricately involved in many of these heartbeat bills, and will continue to defend them in court. In the case of Georgia, which has hosted a number of successful film and television productions in recent years due to its generous tax incentives, it has been facing intense pressure from Hollywood leftists threatening to boycott the state if the LIFE Act becomes law. The point is: That makes no sense. How can a person feel empathy for a chicken and still defend the killing of the unborn? How can that same person worry about the pain a chicken feels and ignore the unspeakable pain inflicted on the baby during an abortion? I guess the 8th Amendment prohibition against ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ does not apply when aborting a baby. We treat convicted criminals sentenced to death better than we treat the unborn! The Assembly #2042 Officer Installation will be held on Saturday June 8, 2019 in Denton, TX at the KC hall, 2:30 pm. Congratulations to our 2019/2020 new officers.

We will be reciting the Patriotic Rosary on Sunday June 30, 2019 before the 11:00 am Mass. The rosary will start at 10:30 am. This will be a very special fallout for our Color Corps Honor Guard. It will be the final time we will be able to officially fallout in Regalia for Honor Guard. In May of 2018 at the Supreme Convention, the announce-ment was made the 4th Degree Color Corps will be changing to a new style uniform. The current regalia will no longer be per-mitted as of July 1, 2019 and the new style uniform will be required for Color Corps Honor Guard. While many of us are still struggling with the decision, we will all have to decide which direction we take from here with Color Corps in the future.

I want to thank all the current and past Color Corps members for proudly and respectfully falling out in regalia over the past years. I would invite and encourage all Color Corps members to fall out for this Mass to honor our current and past Color Corps. This will be the final time we will be officially permitted to wear the regalia by Supreme. It has been an honor and a privilege to wear the regalia. Vivat Jesus!

(GK Message continued from front page); Some Good News in Texas Texas House Approves Bill Banning Funding of Abortion Providers The Texas House of Representatives passed a measure Friday (May 17) night that would ban any state or local government from using taxpayer funds to partner with abortion providers, even for non-abortion services. Senate Bill 22, authored by state Sen. Donna Campbell (R), would prohibit the state and local governments to contract with abor-tion providers, such as Planned Parenthood, for any services, including sex education and contraception initiatives. The bill passed the GOP-led state Senate in April by a vote of 20-11. The legislation would end “sweetheart rent deals,” such as one rental agreement between a Planned Parenthood facility, which does not provide abortions, with the city of Austin for $1 per year. “If the local government is using taxpayer dollars for any type of contract with an abortion provider or affiliate, yes, this bill pro-hibits that transaction,” Campbell said, pointing to Planned Parenthood’s contract with Austin, since 1979, to rent a building for $1 per year with a 20-year extension. Raising Awareness About Life Insurance Each September since 2003 has been designated as Life Insurance Awareness Month.
