We opened the video using the Barn doors effect that came under the video transitions folder. This allowed for a smooth and impacting opening that matched the song.

The Razor tool was frequently used to precisely cut clips next to each other. This meant it was easier to cut clips. The razor tool allowed us to cut the clips in certain places so the footage was synchronised with audio. Razor tool also helped use cut out footage from a clip that didn’t suit the videos narrative but the rest of the clip did, therefor the clip was cut down and spliced together.

We used an Additive dissolve a couple of times to show the passing of time and fading memories to provoke an emotional response from the audience.

Our entire video was edited in black and white. This was done to symbolically show the colour draining from her world. It is also a popular convention of the indie rock genre and is how the 1975 shoot their music videos making ours act as a pastiche.

Titles were used at the end as credits. Instead of using the typical rolling titles we choose stills s they complemented the style more once they were in time with the beats. The titles stated the cast and crews name as well and the song and artist name.
