Example Rough Draft: What would you change?

August

I am the kid who everyone stared at,

the one everybody would look away from

because they were too startled

by my face.

I am the kid who had no friends

but now I have friends, family, and a dog

who love me.

I am the kid who will never be normal

because my differences will always set me apart.

When you write my story,

say that I like school and that I’m smart, surprise surprise.

I am the kid who reminds others of a monster.

Halloween is the only day to blend in

and hide my deformed face.
