7th and 8th Grade End of the Year Trip
A mandatory meeting regarding the end of the year trip for seventh and eighth grade is being held January 25th, in the gymnasium, at 6:00 p.m. Parents are re-quired to come. If you cannot attend, please contact one of your child’s teachers.
Students are also encouraged to come because very important information will be discussed. For example, if you thought you missed the deadline to go on the end of the year trip, THERE IS STILL TIME! What??? That’s right, if you missed the deadline to go on the end of the year trip, but want to go; you will want to attend this meeting to find out how. The deadline will be opening back up allow-ing more 7th and 8th graders to attend the trip, but you must meet the require-ments. Come and find out just what you need to do. See you there!

Edgewater students had a visit with Anna and Ezra the comfort dogs on December
19th.This is the 2nd year Anna had come to visit Edgewater and the 1st year for Ezra. An-na is a female and Ezra is a male golden retriever, both dogs were trained for 2000 hours for about a year and a half. Anna is a LCC K9 comfort dog for Trinity Lutheran Church and School Ezra works with Lutheran Church Charities. Anna and Ezra interact with people at churches, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, events, and disaster response situations. Lu-theran Church Charities K9 Comfort Dogs are friends who bring a calming influence, al-lowing people to open up their hearts and receive help.
When the school found out that the comfort dogs were coming to our school, the teachers signed up for a time to meet with the comfort dogs. The dogs went into class-rooms along with 2 or 3 handlers. A slide or a video is shown about what the dogs and the handlers answered any questions the kids had about Anna or Ezra. Then the kids are al-lowed to sit with the dog and pet them if they want to. It is always an exciting day at Edge-water when Anna and Ezra come to visit.

McDonalds’s Nights
The 7th grade is hosting a McDonald’s Night on Tuesday, January 23rd! The time for their McDonald's Night is 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The 7th grade is hosting this to raise money for their end of the year trip in May.
This evening the 7th grade will volunteer their time by wel-coming customers, serving food, and helping clean off tables.
Please attend this fundraiser because the more people come, the more money we will raise towards our end of the year trip.
