Our teachers provide synchronous instruction via chat, phone, and web meetings. Using Edgenuity with Instructional Services

Edgenuity’s Instructional Services group is approved to provide courses directly to student athletes using Edgenuity’s

own highly qualified, state-certified virtual instructors. Our teachers provide synchronous instruction via chat, phone,

and web meetings. They also provide written feedback on students’ work, reteach concepts when students are

struggling, and communicate regularly with school staff and parents. Combined with on-demand tutoring, students

can always get the help they need when they need it.

Using Edgenuity with District Teachers

Edgenuity curriculum is frequently used with district teachers instead of Edgenuity instructors from the Instructional

Services group. However, if you are using district teachers, your school or district must contact the NCAA Eligibility

Center to submit a Nontraditional Course Questionnaire to describe your implementation model.

Part of the NCAA’s review of nontraditional schools and programs is a “Core Course Analysis,” which examines the

content and assessments being offered.

If you are using Edgenuity’s approved initial-credit courses in their entirety with no customizations, it should not be

necessary to submit the NCAA’s “Core Course Analysis,” which is the last question on the Nontraditional Course

Questionnaire. Simply indicate that your district is using Edgenuity’s approved core courses and attach a copy of your

Edgenuity contract.

Edgenuity® + NCAA

Schools using Instructional Services do not need to submit a Nontraditional Course Questionnaire; they are included in our eligibility status.

The following Edgenuity core courses have already been reviewed and approved by the NCAA as meeting its definition of “core courses”:

State-specific and honors versions of core courses—customized by Edgenuity—are also accepted by the NCAA. If you

further customize Edgenuity’s base or state-specific courses, the NCAA may review your customizations as part of your

application to ensure that they are equivalent in length, content, and rigor to face-to-face courses.

However, curriculum is only one element in determining NCAA eligibility; additional elements are grounded in how

courses are implemented at your school. For more information on these guidelines and other NCAA requirements for

nontraditional courses, please contact Edgenuity or the NCAA Eligibility Center.
