The Edge School Student Awards Program provides both merit-based Achievement Awards and need-based Opportunity Awards. Opportunity Awards are available for families who chose to submit an application. Priority will be given to families currently receiving an award. Achievement Awards are teacher/staff nominated. Only families new to Edge will need to submit an application for Achievement Awards.

Basic Guidelines & Instructions Only application forms completed in full and accompanied by all necessary documentation will be considered. Your most recent Notice of Assessment(s) from Canada Revenue Agency will be required. The Student Awards Committee reserves the right to request additional information from any applicant. Please note that all information will remain strictly confidential.

Edge Opportunity Awards are financial need-based and are awarded to students who exhibit sound academic and athletic achievement, good character, and a capacity to make a worthwhile contribution to the School. Funds are provided from donations that the school receives as well as from fundraising events run by the Edge School Foundation.

Anyone can apply for financial assistance. Most recipients’ household income is under $100,000. Funds available for these awards are limited and all successful applicants will be required to pay a minimum amount of tuition fees as determined by the Committee. Most awards for families who qualify are between $2,000 and $11,000.

The Committee uses a standard formula to determine the needs of each family. Consideration of income, expenses, net worth, age, size of family and the number of dependants at tuition paying schools establishes the need. Other factors in the award decision process include the applicant’s demonstration of adhering to the Mountaineer Code of Conduct, our LEAD Model (Leadership, Effort, Attitude and Dignity) and good academic standing.

A new application must be submitted for each school year. If applying for more than one child in your family, please list the students’ names on the Edge Student Information section. Only one application needs to be completed per family.
