Summary of case study Roopa Gupta was an

intelligent ,creative , and energetic lady. Inspite of being an M.sc in chemistry, she was a housewife. She wanted to supplement her family income, but did not want to do a job.

So she started a business of rural crafts and metal handicrafts .She started winning prizes for the same. She held many exhibitions , in one such exhibition she came into contact with an American interested in artificial jewellary.

local articians , and than she started getting consignments to the USA through an exporter. she also got involved in the export business . she expanded her business by getting loan from the bank .she floated her own exporting firm Medha international.

During her international tours she discovered that ornamental cane furniture could be another promising export item. She provided work to 60 traditional artisans and tribals .
