SECTION A – Project Objective 1; continued-

1.c. At the end of each academic year, scholars rate courses on six quality indicators using a 4-point Likert type scale. Project faculty met and reviewed the course evaluations and responses to open-ended questions to identify areas where courses could be improved. Although the target was met, two areas of improvement were noted, XX and XX. Revisions are currently underway to address these. Performance will be assessed after each semester and reported annually.

1.d. This is an OSEP Program Measure where actual data are not reported. See 1.b. for the aligned Project Measure.

SECTION B - Budget Information (See Instructions. Use as many pages as necessary.)

For budget expenditure data reported in items 8a. – 8c. of the ED 524B Cover Sheet, provide an explanation if you have federal grant funds that (a) have not been drawn down from the G5 System to pay for the budget expenditure amounts reported in items 8a. – 8c of the ED 524B Cover Sheet, and (b) have not been expended at the expected rate during the reporting period.

Describe any significant changes to your budget resulting from modification of project activities.

Describe any changes to your budget that affected your ability to achieve your approved project activities and/or project objectives.

Please provide a breakdown of the expenditures using an ED 524 form or a table (see the example below) that you create show-ing the budget categories as outlined in the application; including, Personnel, Fringe, Travel, Equipment, Supplies, and so forth.

For each budget category show the amount of federal funds: (a) budgeted; (b) expended by 2/28/201X; (c) to be expended by the end of this budget period (e.g., 9/30/201X); and (d) remaining at the end of this fiscal year. The ED 524 form is available at http://www2.ed.gov/fund/grant/apply/appforms/appforms.html.

If you will have any unexpended funds at the end of the current budget period, explain why, and provide an estimate. Also please indicate how you plan to use the unexpended funds (aka “carryover”) in the next budget period. The Department is concerned about “large available balances” (LAB) and asking for justification of need for continuation funding on grants with a LAB.

Contact your Project Officer for more information or with questions about your unexpended funds if you anticipate having a LAB.

If any, describe anticipated changes in your budget for the next budget period that requires prior approval from the Department (see EDGAR, 34 CFR 74.25 and 80.30, as applicable).
