United Thank Offering
The annual ingathering of the United Thank
Offering (UTO) will be next Sunday, May
6th. The money given to the UTO has built
churches, provided transportation, clothed
the poor, fed the hungry, and housed the
homeless, just to name a few things.
The Episcopal Church Women around the
country invite you to ponder those things for
which you are thankful. Family. Friends.
Food. A good parking place. An unexpected
phone call or email. Take a box home with
you today, and drop a coin or a bill in every
time you are thankful for something . You’ll
see how quickly those things add up. At
Christ Church, we practice an attitude of
gratitude. How can your gratitude make a
positive impact on others?
To learn more about the domestic and inter-
national projects supported by the UTO, visit

Welcome to Shelia, Brian & Susan! Sheila Morin: Sheila Morin lived in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, before moving to New Bern. She grew up in the Catholic Church, but wants to become a member here at Christ Church. Sheila also resided in Lynchburg, Virginia nine years ago and previous to that she lived in California. She worked for most of her life as a school teacher, worked in law offices, and was a dog and cat sitter. She enjoys bridge and reading. Sheila has two grown children living in Massachusetts.
Brian and Susan Lee: Brian and Susan Lee moved to New Bern from Indiana after Brian accepted a position at Moen. Susan is a therapist at Cherry Point and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for more than 20 years. Brian grew up in Ohio and Susan’s roots are in Illinois. Before joining Christ Church they attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havelock. They both enjoy working out, walking their “fur babies”, going to the beach, and attending local festivals and entertainment events. Susan enjoys singing and has an interest in the choir here at Christ Church.
Scenes from EYC last Sunday In honor of Earth Day, the group picked up trash around Union Point Park. They logged the trash the collected using an app called
Litterati. This app keeps tracks of trash collection on a local and global scale.
