PREFACE

This l i s t inc ludes 101 beekeeping j o u r n a l s a t present being publ ished r egu la r ly ; i t has been compiled in response to reques t s made a t the meeting

tof Edi tors of beekeeping j o u r n a l s held i n 1954 a t the XV I n t e r n a t i o n a l Bee­keeping Congress in Copenhagen. I t i s bel ieved to be f a i r l y complete, except t h a t i t does not include a number of j o u r n a l s with a small and purely local c i r cu la t ion . I hope t ha t Edi tors and others using the L i s t wil l send me p a r t i ­culars of any journals which have been overlooked, and also the items indicated as unknown, and any correct ions .

The system of numbering used wi l l allow the convenient numbering of any journals added in future supplements, and also the easy publ icat ion of addi t ­ional information about the journa l s l i s t e d here, as and when there i s a dem­and for i t ( e . g . , whether con t r ibu t ions are i nv i t ed , and whether payment i s made for them).

A more comprehensive b ib l iographica l l i s t cover ing both p a s t and p r e s ­ent j o u r n a l s , and giving the holdings of each in .some of the more important l i b r a r i e s , i s i n p r epa ra t i on . I sha l l be glad to hear from any who would be in teres ted in helping with t h i s work.

The l i s t of currencies on page 12 i s included for the convenience of readers , but any of the r a t e s quoted should be checked before payment i s made in the currency concerned.

Almost a l l the j o u r n a l s l i s t e d here are rece ived r e g u l a r l y by the Bee Research Assoc ia t ion L i b r a r y (see i tem 7 below) . The p u b l i s h e r s of o the r j o u r n a l s a re i n v i t e d t o apply for an exchange between t h e i r journa ls and Bee World, which i s published by the Bee Research Association.
