Mixed Economies

• A mixed economy is an economic system that incorporates aspects of more than one economic system. This usually means an economy that contains both private-owned and state-owned enterprises[1] or that combines elements of capitalism and socialism, or a mix of market economy and planned economy characteristics

• Capitalism refers to an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated, and in which investments,income, production and pricing of goods and services are determined through the operation of a market economy

Market Economy

• A market economy is an economy in which the individuals are free to exchange or distribute legal goods and services.

• These decisions are influenced by the pressures of competition, supply, and demand.

• This is often contrasted with a planned economy, in which a central government decides what will be produced
