It is fundamental to respect the environment and not leave any type of

waste or garbage.

On the Ecological Path we will walk the trails with the

goal of having fun and getting to know the nature

of the site.

Don´t leave the trail or walk away from the group without the permission of a teacher or monitor.

Disturb the fauna as little as possible, don´t pick plants,

and when you leave the nature site, try to leave it just

like you found it.

One of the great spectacles that nature can offer us is the power to contemplate birds in their natural

habitat.

But ATTENTION!!!! In the country, we should be civil and discreet,

passing as unnoticed as possible, neither altering the habitat, nor

disturbing the animals.

Now that you have observed some of the birds on the path, try to indentify them by their silhouettes:

Water is the fountain of life, and cities emerge along rivers. Toledo was born in its current location because of its proximity to the Tagus.

From the photos and the clues, try to identify the artistic monuments that you have visited on the path and note them in the box:

1) On this bridge with a legend, we will see an important colony of birds...

2) In this church, there is a Christ with a lot of mystery...

3) It is said that figures are seen and strange voices are heard at night...

4) The Catholic Kings ordered this great church to be

built…

One of the most representative species of bird near the Tagus River is the duck.

Fauna on the Path

I´m sure that along the path, you have learned many things

about me. Show it by answering these questions:

Even though both of these examples are ducks, you can see that they are not exactly the same. Can you tell how they are different?

What is the difference between the male and female?

Who is who?

The river is not a dump. You can help to keep it clean if you deposit residue in the correct place.

Draw lines to connect each one of the following residues with the type of container that you should put it in:

Green Igloo

Yellow Igloo

Dark Green Container

Blue Container

Rivers, lakes, and seas collect, and maintain for a long time, garbage produced by human activity.

If you want to enjoy your environment and a clean river, remember...

Learn to deposit residue in the correct containers so they can be treated correctly.

Don´t use the toilet or sink as a garbage can. Keep in mind that it can stop the river or sea.

And the most important... if you observe that something is damaging the river… REPORT IT!!!!!!!

Ahh!!! And remember...

GREEN IGLOO: All glass containers (bottles, jars, and tins) without covers or lids.

BLUE CONTAINER: Any paper and cardboard that is clean and folded well.

YELLOW IGLOO: Soda and food cans, plastic bags and containers, plastic food trays.WASTE: Food scraps and any type of residue that doesn´t go in the other containers.

The natural richness of our water is seriously threatened by contamination, introduced

species, and human activity.

Fauna on the Path

Due to the contamination of the Tagus, there is not a large variety of fish and those that liver there are not very demanding in regard to the quality of the water. We can mainly find Carp and Catfish.

Help the carp to find that path that leads to the food:

The Ecological Path also has many species of

vegetation. Surely you will learn many interesting

things about them.In the following boxes, draw a taray leaf, an elm leaf and a rosebay leaf:
