Student Action Team (SAT) Report
On the last day of Term 1 the SAT and Ms McGurgan held the School Colour-Fun Walk. Once again this event
highlighted the wonderful community we have at 208, with our many participants and supporters on the day.
Thank you to the staff, students, parents and friends who helped make this event a success.
This term the SAT will have a new timetable for lunchtime activities which will include: dance, 9 square,
football, netball, skipping and calm colouring. Timetables will be distributed to classrooms this week in
readiness for Week 2.
The SAT’s major event for Term 2 is the ‘One and All Inclusion Day’ (Orange Day), taking place on May 10th.
Students are encouraged to wear a splash of orange on this day to promote inclusion.

ANZAC Service
This morning we came together as a school community to remember and reflect on the sacrifices of
Australian men and women so that we may live in freedom today.
The choir’s performance of The Last Anzac was a poignant reminder of the times in which we live -
“Will we hold the Anzac courage and join our hands in peace?”
The greatest tribute we can pay to the Anzacs is to model peace and humility to our children.
Thank you to today’s student participants; their poise, solemnity and respect was outstanding.
Please note: students wishing to participate in tomorrow’s March are invited to meet on the Just Jeans
corner at 10.15am, in FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM please.
Oceania Sky-running Ultra Marathon Champion, 2019
Whilst most of us relaxed and ate mountains of Easter
Eggs over the holidays, one 208 family took up a very
different challenge. Competing at the Buffalo
Stampede in Bright, Isla and Ivy Cladingboel
competed in the 2km event and dad (Nick) competed
in the 10km challenge. Amazingly, Bec ran the 75km
Ultra Marathon scampering over technical trails, steep
gradients and even caves to run away with the
Oceania Champion trophy in a time of 11 hours and
11 minutes.
Rumour has it that our very own Mrs Griffiths also
competed at the event, losing a couple of toenails in
the process – stay tuned for her results!
What an inspirational family!
