ECDIS Generic Course - 5 Day Course (MCA Approved)

This course has been designed for officers in charge of a navigational watch and for experienced mariners. Based on the IMO 1.27 model, we have optimised our course so it fulfills the 40 hour requirement as well as covering additional subjects that we consider pertinent to safe ECDIS operation. We also offer Mobile Generic ECDIS training anywhere in the world. We are able to visit you and conduct ‘in house’ training on your own systems, ensuring the highest level of understanding for you and your team.

ECDIS Type Specific Course - 1 Day CourseOur 1 day course has been designed for candidates who have completed IMO 1.27 model ECDIS generic training and now require specific training for the ECDIS systems that they have on-board their own vessel.

ECDIS Onboard Familiarisation - 1 Day CourseThis course has been designed for candidates who have completed ECDIS generic training and now require onboard familiarisation training on their installed equipment. It’s for officers in charge of a navigational watch, for experienced officers and other persons with navigational responsibilities.

BRIDGE TRAINING COURSES

Bridge Team Management (BTM) - 5 Day Course A course for bridge team management skills aiming to enhance teamwork through carefully designed scenarios, which will test bridge team cohesion and decision making. Roles will be rotated through all members giving junior officers the chance to experience the pressures of leading a successful bridge team.

Bridge Resource Management (BRM) - 3 Day CourseThe bridge resource management course brings together the practical and theoretical aspects of ship handling and bridge resource management. Lectures in the classroom are supported by practical sessions in the full mission bridge simulator in various roles and environments.

Bridge Procedures Course (BPC) - 1.5 Day CourseThis advanced course on bridge procedures is for companies who wish to use their own fleet procedures to develop their bridge teams beyond the current requirements. We will put teams under controlled pressure ensuring that they to revert to using the basics for navigation and working as an effective team.

HELM TRAINING COURSES

Human Element, Leadership & Managment (HELM) Management Level - 5 Day Course (MCA Approved)

The HELM (M) course is required by the MCA for those who are applying for a new or renewal CoC at management level. The MCA state that you must include a certificate of completion of an approved HELM management level course with any application received by the MCA after 31st August 2013. The candidates will learn how to use managerial skills to control the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the management level. The course will entail components made up of case studies, role play, scenarios, simulation and team exercises.

HELM Operational Level - 3 Day Course (MCA Approved)

The HELM (O) course has been designed for candidates to learn how to control the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the operational level. Candidates seeking certification under:

• STCW Regulation II/1 - officers in charge of a navigational watch on seagoing ships of 500 GT or more.

• STCW Regulation III/1 - officers in charge of an engineering watch in a manned engine-room or as designated duty engineers in a periodically unmanned engine-room.
