Enterprise Search Integration (ESI) —ESI makes EBSCOhost data-base metadata content available to an Enterprise Search Applica-tion (ESA) search index. The end result is that an ESA user can search EBSCOhost content within an integrated result list in combination with other databases and local content, under one common inter-face. ESAs can index millions of structured and unstructured docu-ments from several content sources, and can utilize internal/exter-nal taxonomies to present users with a rich search experience—far exceeding today’s Federated Search products in usability. Some of the most popular ESAs include Endeca, FAST Search, Autonomy, Northern Light, Lucene/Solr and Google Search Appliance.

EMR InfoButton—Leveraging the HL7 standard enables access from a patient record in the EMR to contextually relevant clinical in-formation for evidence-based decision support at the point-of-care.

Persistent Linking—Embed direct and dynamic links to clinical content from EBSCO into an application, portal or Intranet.

RSS Feed—Access content via continuously updated RSS-based feeds from EBSCO. Access to the content is seamless to the end user and requires minimal bandwidth.

SharePoint—EBSCO provides pre-built web parts and How To doc-umentation enabling organizations to embed the EBSCOhost expe-rience directly into their SharePoint pages. EBSCO’s web parts pro-vide targeted access to the relevant and timely information needed by today’s business professionals. Detailed documentation pro-vides guidance to users choosing to create customized web parts. Because the web parts leverage existing EIT options such as RSS and web services, organizations have multiple options when choosing to deploy EBSCOhost web parts.
