Ebola Fever

● Ebola hemorrhagic fever (Ebola HF) is a severe, often-fatal disease in humans and nonhuman primates (monkeys and gorilla ) that has appeared sporadically since its initial recognition in 1976.

It comes from chimpanzees and other monkeys.

It is transmitted to humans and comes suddenly and unexpectedly .

● A vector-borne disease is one in which the pathogenic microorganism is transmitted from an infected individual to another individual by an arthropod or other agent, sometimes with other animals serving as intermediary hosts.

● Ebola virus hemorrhagic fever is a zoonotic disease transmitted to humans by direct contact with infected live or dead animals, and more specifically with their body fluid.

● Early symptoms are you will have a fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, sore throat, and weakness, followed by diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain , red eyes ,and external bleeding.

● Bleeding from eyes, ears, and nose

● Bleeding from the mouth and rectum (gastrointestinal bleeding)

● Depression

● Eye swelling (conjunctivitis)

● Genital swelling (labia and scrotum)

● Rash over the entire body that often contains blood (hemorrhagic)

● Roof of mouth looks red

Ebola does not affect children differently than adults. Ebola is a deadly virus that is highly contagious when a person is exposed to other people who are infected. Up to 90% of people who are infected with the virus may die.

Ebola is introduced into the human population through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals. In Africa, infection has been documented through the handling of infected chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, and monkeys.

The spread of Ebola virus occurs when uninfected people come into direct contact with an infected person or his or her secretions or blood.

Treatments for Ebola may include:Oxygen and devices that help with breathingAntibiotics to prevent secondary infections from bacteriaMedications to control fever, help the blood clot, and maintain ··blood pressureIntravenous (IV) fluids to maintain fluids and electrolytes (sodium, potassium, and chloride)Good nursing care.

It was first found in the Democratic Republic of Congo Africa in 1976. It was named after a river in Democratic Republic of Congo. Ebola is an extremely unpleasant disease that usually results in death.

The Ebola virus was first associated with an outbreak of 318 cases of a hemorrhagic disease in Africa. Of the 318 cases, 280 of them died—and died quickly. That same year, 1976, 284 people in Sudan also became infected with the virus and 156 died
