TRANSCRIPT
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK June 2012 If there ever was a time that our nation needed prayer,
surely it’s today. When our key leaders endorse ‘same-sex
marriage’, we are truly headed down the road to destruction.
It seems that the Word of God has become obsolete and insig-
nificant to so many today. Call me old fashion, but I still be-
lieve in God’s Word that teaches: “therefore a man shall
leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and
they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). One of the
greatest preachers of our time said this: "At 93, I never
thought we would have to debate the definition of marriage,"
Billy Graham's statement said. "The Bible is clear – God's
definition of marriage is between a man and a woman. May
the Church arise and pray for our nation and may we stand
strong upon the Biblical teachings of God’s Holy Word.
Summer is here! Check the various activities sched-
uled and do your part of getting involved in such events as:
Vacation Bible School and World Changers.
As mentioned in Sunday’s sermon, Eaton Memorial
Baptist will be celebrating her 104th birthday this coming
July. There have been many Godly people who have served
and led EMBC to where we are today. My prayer is that all
who come behind us will find us faithful! May the Lord con-
tinue to impact this community through EMBC, for we are
HIS HEART—HIS HANDS—HIS VOICE!
By the time you get this newsletter one of our oldest
living members will have celebrated her 103rd birthday, Mrs.
Maudra Abrams. We were truly blessed this past Sunday to
have her worshipping with us. Maudra, may the Lord con-
tinue to bless you and your family, for you are truly an inspi-
ration to us all. HAPPY 103rd BIRTHDAY !

We will be hosting a group of young people again
this year. ALL of our days have been sponsored —
please remember - no salads in their lunches and a
simple dessert would be appreciated.
We are collecting bottled water and the flavoring
packets . These can be left in the office by the stools
or under the table by the elevator.
Instead of bringing an assortment of snacks -
we are asking everyone that can to donate money.
These donations can be placed in the pew enve-
lopes and marked “World Changers” or brought/
mailed to the church office with a note stating for
“World Changers”.
Any questions: catch Mary Jo or Donna Bell
