Page 1: Eating Before You Workout

When eating the body

stores excess that

wasn’t used as energy as

glycogen in the system.

When waking up in the

morning the body has

enough glycogen stored

to get you through that

60 minutes with a full

load of energy. This also

may burn more calories

because you are using

the excess calories from

yesterday without

consuming more

calories.

You have just woken up

and need to be at the

office in an hour. You

don’t have time to eat a

good breakfast, should

you just skip your

workout? NO! Scientists

have proven that even

grabbing a handful of ber-

ries or a small breakfast

can still fuel you before a

workout and keep you

moving until the end. If

you are one of those

people that can’t even

look at food in the

morning because it just

makes you sick, don’t

fret! Your body will have

enough energy stored

from the night before to

fuel you through an

entire 60 minute

workout without feeling

faint or dizzy.

There are plenty of options for

great pre-workout foods. Here

are some of the easiest and most

popular ones out there.

Yogurt:

You can change this up anyway

you want. Adding cereal, berries,

or even honey to any kind of low

fat or Greek yogurt makes for a

perfect pre workout meal.

Oats or Oatmeal:

Oats are a carbohydrate and

therefore give some extra need-

ed energy to push through the

end of that workout. This can

also be changed up with fruits or

even just a few shakes of a little

bit of brown sugar. Sweet and to

the point!

Eggs:

Eggs can be made in hundreds of

different ways. Adding in vegeta-

bles can give a little more of a

boost or even just making them

scrambled like mom used to.

These have a lot of protein in

them and really give way to a lot

of energy. Making hard boiled

eggs earlier in the week in turn

make a great on the go snack!

How important is it?

What to eat?!
