MARILYN JACKSON painting and printmakingMarilyn's work develops from direct personalresponses to the natural and made environment, with visual imagery then developing from bothpersonal mythology and imagination. Imagesarise through material experimentation, digitalexperimentation, collage and the written word.
LISA HURCUM printmakingLisa uses the short fiction she writes as theinspiration for her prints. Often taking characterand place as the starting point to a story, Lisauses linocut to produce an accompanying imagethat encapsulates details of the text.
NI GOODING screen printing & acrylic paintingNi's work derives from the ‘modernist’ traditionwhere the emphasis is on flatness and thedecorative qualities of colour, line, texture andcomposition. It is not so much about recording orresponding to the world as making a new objectin the world.
NINA ROFFEY sculptural assemblages using found objectsNina has been working with found wood and usingunwanted, rejected or plain junk to re-inventsomething, thus giving it new life. She may paint, carve or collage onto the wood. The found object isstill her thing but she also paints and makes collageswhen she feel like a change. Her artworks are a bitquirky.
MARK BURRELL paintings, portraits & magical realismMark’s distinctive draughtsmanship pays meticulousattention to detail. Equally adept is his conjuring ofmagical landscapes, inhabited by strange yetfamiliar characters. His subjects range from his hometown, Lowestoft, to a sharp satire of internationalpolitics and highest flights of imagination, creatingunique visual narratives in magical realism.
FIONA SHREEVE sculptural ceramicsBrutalist Architecture informs Fiona’s sculpturalceramics. She is inspired by images of buildingssuch as The Barbican, Park Hill in Sheffield Or LeCorbusier’s “Unite d’Habitation.” These buildingsare reflected in the forms and the under glazeprints she creates on the surfaces of her work.
