Hennepin is a Reconciling Congregation, welcoming the fullparticipation of all persons including the GLBT Community.

    Risen One,

    come; meet me

in the garden of my life.

    Lure me into elation.

    Revive my silent hope.

    Coax my dormant dreams.

    Raise up my neglected gratitude.

    Entice my tired enthusiasm.

    Give life to my

    faltering relationships.Unwrap the deadness

    in my spiritual life.

    Impart heartiness in my work.

    Risen One,

send me forth as a disciple

    of your unwavering love,

    a messenger

    of your unlimited joy.

    Risen One,

    may I become

    ever more convinced

    that your presence lives on,

    and on,

    and on, and on.

    Awaken me! Awaken me!

    Easter

    Greetingsfrom

    Bruce

    Robbins

A warm welcome to all who come toHennepin Church today to celebratethe Easter resurrection. We rememberand relive the testimony of Jesusdisciples who could not believe theireyes! Even when they saw, it was sohard to see Jesus and to know him.

Why? It seemed to good to be true that the Roman crucifixion was notthe last Word! Marys tears soon driedup as she came to know a new begin-ning in life. May your eyes of faithopen wide to all the new beginningspossible for you, too. The wordsspoken this morning are not idle tales. What could happen if you and I startedto live the love of Christ in all that wedo? It can be an incredibly beautifulsunrise into a new day and new

life. Thank you for coming. It is anhonor for all of us to worship togetherand sing Hallelujah!

    MORNING PRAYER Kristyn Ebert

Gracious Redeemer, we come to you in the morning of the resurrection. We expect to find you among the tombs and grave-cloths of ourworld, but you are alive! Sin cannot hold you; death cannot bindyou. Just as we have been weeping and mourning that you weretaken from us, you meet us in the garden of new life and send usrunning to share the good news of the gospel to the ends of the

earth. Be present with us as miracle and mystery. Amen.

ANTHEM The Lord is Risen Indeed William Billings

The Lord is risen indeed! Hallelujah! Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept. And did he rise? Hear it, ye nations! Hear it, O ye dead!He rose, he burst the bars of death and triumphed o'er the grave. Then I rose! Then first Humanity triumphant passed the crystal ports of light

and seized Eternal Youth.Ye, all immortal, hail! Heaven all lavish of great gifts to you.

Thine's all the glory, ours the bound-less bliss.

Early in the morning of the first day ofthe week, while it was still dark, Mary

Magdalene came to the tomb and sawthat the stone had been taken awayfrom the tomb. She ran to Simon Peterand the other disciple, the one whomJesus loved, and said, They have takenthe Lord from the tomb, and we dontknow where theyve put him. Peterand the other disciple left to go to thetomb. They were running together, butthe other disciple ran faster than Peterand was the first to arrive at thetomb. Bending down to take a look, he

saw the linen cloths lying there, buthe didnt go in. Following him, Simon

Peter entered the tomb and saw thelinen cloths lying there. He also saw theface cloth that had been on Jesus head.It wasnt with the other clothes but wasfolded up in its own place. Then theother disciple, the one who arrived atthe tomb first, also went inside. He sawand believed. They didnt yet understandthe scripture that Jesus must rise fromthe dead. Then the disciples returned tothe place where they were staying.

Mary stood outside near the tomb,
