PEP RALLY During the fall Homecoming is one of the most exciting events at Shaw. This Year eleven young ladtes and three young men competed against each other for the 1981-1982 Homecoming King and Queen Crowns. The competition was high­lighted by a pep rally during which the contestants were presented to the student body.

ANNUAL COLLEGE FAIR The Annual College Fair was held in the gym on Oct. 20. Over 50 repre­sentatives from colleges and trade schools throughout the U.S. were present. Students, parents and fac ­ulty were InVited to meet with the school of the1r choice to rece1ve in­formation about the college pro­grams and expenses and Financial Assistance available to the stu­dents.

We have renovated facilities. restructured the curriculum and revitalized pro­grams in order to meet the needs of more students. The paper, which is edited by sen­ior Kevin grays, consists of eight pages of a higher grade of paper, and is filled with club news, enter­tainment features, sports, career in­formation, and news stories. There is room for creative writing and po­etry in this exciting publication which is sponsored by Mr. Ulsen­heimer.

The National Honor Society consists of juniors and seniors who have maintained a grade point average above 3.3. This year there was only one induction ceremony. The mem­bership requirements are based on scholarship, service, leadership, and character. The major objective of the honor society is to inspire the student body to high levels of edu­cation.

Canteen Council is an organization headed by Mrs. G. Pannell. She is responsible for the activities during lunch periods and weekends. Can­teen Council members work hard to get the student body interested in school activities such as dances and the talent shows. The money that is made on the fund raisers enables the members to take a trip at the end of the school year. There is a great deal of hard work put into this organization.
