HOT TOPIC!!!NAPLES BOTANICAL GARDEN UNVEILS ITS NEW SPRING EXHIBITUNEARTHED: DINOSAURS IN THE GARDEN NAPLES, FL., -- Updated March 3, 2015 – Naples Botanical Garden presents Unearthed: Dinosaurs in the Garden March 14 to July 5, 2015. Made with painstaking attention to detail, this multi-sensory exhibit includes ten large scale animatronic dinosaur models such as a towering Brachiosaurus and a 40-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex. These life-sized replicas move and growl, giving our guests a sneak peek into life millions of years ago, incorporating key details from paleontological findings and research from around the world. This dynamic and interactive dinosaur exhibit is both educational and entertaining for the entire family. Signage and docents will be on hand to help interpret the exhibit. Supporting sponsors are Stock Development, Nordstrom and sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.Media sponsor is Naples Daily News. Spanning the Mesozoic Era, from the Triassic to the Cretaceous, a variety of familiar faces as well as species our visitors may not have discovered will be back from extinction and congregating in the Garden. These terrific creatures will primarily be located in two gardens: the Kathleen and Scott Kapnick Brazilian Garden and the Karen and Robert Scott Florida Garden. And in the Vicky C. and David Byron Smith Children’s Garden a Tyrannosaurus Rex photo opportunity and fossil dig pit will be available for the duration of the exhibit. Many of the plants placed throughout this exhibit are symbolicof plants alive during the time of the dinosaurs. Like the dinosaurs, most plants of the time have gone extinct while others evolved into the species we know today. Primeval plants such as cycads and ferns will allow for guests to better interpret the environment in which these giants lived. Botanical gardens play an important role in ensuring the survival of plant species for future generations. Naples Botanical Garden is working to preserve the flora of Florida and the region between the 26th latitudes from extinction through education, research, and conservation projects. Unearthed: Dinosaurs in the Garden will be included with regular Garden admission and take place during regular Garden hours. Garden admission can be purchased online on our website, ahead of guest arrival. Limited daily tickets will be available.

continued from page 1part of town. It will be close to the 951/41 intersection, but that’s all I can tell you right now. *Have you seen the maps of the land being held in preservation by the State, Feds, South Florida Water, the environmentalists, and the developments being built? Over 77 % of Collier County is being held in preservation forever to protect our future water sources, the panther corridors, the wetlands, environmentally sensitive lands, protected animals and birds, etc. With all of us living around the perimeter of Collier County near the water, we don’t realize the vast amounts of land that can never be built upon. You’ll find it interesting. *Have you been wondering about the construction taking place on County Barn Rd.? It is another phase of the Lely Area Stormwater Improvement area, and when completed will reduce or eliminate the flooding that has been experienced in years gone by. Once the county finishes the LASIP, they will build a new two lane County Barn Road, with a 10 ft. shoulder on the west side for bikers and walkers. The county is still trying to find the dollars to add lights to that very dark road. *The new community center is still trudging along in the last phase of construction, but as you can see, it is taking a lot longer than ever expected. Now it looks like an April ribbon cutting. We hope it will happen then! *The Naples Towne Centre has struggled through hard times, just as other businesses have, except they had another hurdle to overcome. There are different owners for different sections of that shopping center. Last year the RMC Property Group painted and upgraded their northeast section of the shopping center, and have moved forward at a good pace leasing their stores, but they had one large area that needed to be filled. They wouldn’t accept just any company; they wanted it to be above average, and they found the right merchant! It’s “Lucky’s Market”, a business that already has locations in other parts of our great country. I’m excited to get to know this new independently owned and operated 38,000 sq. ft. Organic Grocery Store. Their concept is to provide the freshest, local, organic, sustainable and traditionally crafted foods. They were quoted as saying “We believe when we give back to the earth, the earth repays in kind. *Another bit of huge news! A Sam’s Club is planning on coming to the East Naples Community! Yes, you heard right. The final details are being worked out and I’ll let you know the location soon. They hope to be open for business before the end of this year!
