Image Painting Tutorial Download and Open the file PMpainingart from the website http://pixelmustache.net/files/painting- art/ Double click the thumbnail picture in the layer (the guy) titled "Your Image". This will open a new window (because it's a smart object). In this new window, add your image (File, open, choose your image, a new window will open, drag and drop your image into this new file - or however you like to add an image to an open .psd project). Adjust your image - free transform, resize, move, etc. to adjust your image to about the same location as the plaid wear guy. This is the important part. When your done choose - File, Save . This will update the smart object. Now, return to the PMpainingart (PixelMustache- Painting-Art.psd) file, which is still open, and you should see it updated with the image you just added. You can close that second window now if you like. It doesn't hurt anything to leave it open. Click on the various layer masks (the black ones next to file folders) and using either a white brush or black brush (pick your brush, flow and opacity levels), paint over the black areas to hide, or reveal (based on your choice of black or white) your image. Experiment! These are fairly quick, down and dirty instructions. Change the colors of the images using filters. Make the image your own! -Pixel Mustache.
