The East Butler Athletic Committee would like to thank those of you that supported the 2013 Athletic Fun Night. A special thanks to Marvin Bohac for his auctioneering services, to the Cheerleaders and Letter Club members that helped with the games and face painting and to the Dwight Legion Hall for allowing us to use the Legion Hall for the event. Thank you to athletes and their families for purchasing and selling the raffle tickets. A very special THANK YOU to the pre-school, elementary, jr-high and high school classes for your basket donations for the Auction. We appreciate the time and effort put into these donations each year. This year with your help the baskets raised over $900.00 for our organization.

East Butler Athletic Committee Project History The Committee first started in 2003 as the Football Committee. They took charge of the projects at the Dwight football field which included new bleachers, a crow’s nest, cement pads under the bleachers, front entrance gate and miscellaneous wiring and items to the concession stand and building addition. They started Fun Night and the Elementary Basketball Tournaments as a way to fund raise for the football field project. They also were in charge of the speaker and the meal served at the Athletic Banquet held in the spring. In 2009 after completion of most of the projects at the football field, the name of the committee was changed to the East Butler Athletic Committee, so that we could be recognized as a fund-raising group for all Athletic teams at East Butler for Elementary, Junior High and High School Students. Thanks to your continued and generous support, we have been able to continue making contributions to the East Butler Athletic Programs. Listed below are some of the items we have purchased and projects we have contributed funds towards: Football Shack Improvements Yearly Flu Shots for Athletes Elementary Drop-Down Basketball Hoops Team Water Bottles Embroidered team towels Elementary Basketball Tournaments 30 White Mighty Lite Tables Yearly Athletic Banquet Senior Night Food Summer Swim Parties Track Warm Up Suits Football Scoreboard Athletic Banquet Speakers Football Travel Bags Sponsor Hole Foundation Golf Tournament Volleyball Practice Equipment Ice Machines Basketball Shoot Around Santa Treats Wrestling Mats Track Ring Supplies Weight Lifting Software Program Charter Bus for team travel Football Goal Board New wall mats in gym Track Hurdles Shot Doctor Classes HUDL Software Program Elementary Basketball Program Donations for Softball Awards Banquet, Cross Country Meet Picnic Having the Dwight Legion open after home football games Complimentary meals for coaches and athletes at the Athletic Banquet Vertimax Machine Through your support at our Fund Raising functions we have raised and contributed over $68,000.00 back to the East Butler Athletic Programs.

The Affordable Care Act may be forcing an Omaha mom to choose between her child and healthcare. A month after purchasing a good plan that she could afford, it was negated by the Obamacare regulations. The mother expressed that she will most likely pay the $95 fine and do without insurance rather than the $3000 for insurance. She says this way she can feed her family.
