Earth’s Interior

Earth’s spheres

• There are four kinds of spheres on the Earth.• These four substances are: Land, water, living

things, air; but in scientific language, we call them differently.

Lithosphere

• Lithosphere-Land, earth that we are living on; also we can call undergrounds as a lithosphere.

Hydrosphere

• Hydrosphere-water that we all need, and cannot survive without it. Ex: Oceans, lakes, rivers, etc.

Atmosphere

• Air that we are all breathing; also, known as oxygen.

Biosphere

• Biosphere-Living things, as we know that word bio-life, it’s easy to define this word.

• For example: Plants, trees, animals, humans, etc; everything that absorbs oxygen.

Layers of Earth

• Earth is made up of bunch of different layers; but there’s four most significant layers, they are: Oceanic Crust, Continental Crust, Asthenosphere, Mantle, Outer & Inner Core. Each layer of earth has it’s specific job, and characteristics.

Inside-to-outside

• Inner, outer, lower, upper, crust.

Oceanic Crust

• Oceanic Crust-is much thinner than Continental; under the sea, like islands, lands under the sea.

Continental Crust

• Continental Crust- made up of minerals and rocks.

Asthenosphere

• Asthenosphere-Upper mantle, it’s a solid rock, which can flood like a liquid.

Mantle

• Mantle-Layer of the beneath the crust, made up of a rock that flows slowly.

Outer Core

• Outer Core-is a liquid. The outer core is 2300 km thick. Outer Core composed of nickels and irony.

Inner Core

• Inner Core-is a solid, it is 1200 km thick, it is composed of iron.
