Introduction

The ear is the body part that detects sound. It only acts as a receiver for sound, but also plays a major role in the sense of balance and body position.

What is a ear

Your ears are extraordinary organs. They pick up all the sounds around you and then translate this information into a form your brain.

Your sense of smell, taste and vision all involve chemical reactions, but your hearing system is based solely on physical movement can understand.

Every day we experience sound in our environment such as the television, radio, washing machine, automobiles, buses and trucks.

Animals hear better than humans. Once you've lost your hearing it's gone! The middle ear receives air via the Eustachian tube,

which is connected to the throat. The most common ear disorder is called otitis media,

which is a disorder of the middle ear.
