About KigaliFounded in 1907 by its German Colonial Administrators,
Kigali is the capital and largest city in Rwanda with
a population of over 1,000,000 people. It is located
in the geographical heart of Rwanda, and is also themain business centre and port of entry into the land
of a thousand hills boasting, among others, the only
international airport in the country.
The city of Kigali in Rwanda enjoys a reputation as
one of the cleanest and safest cities on the African
Continent, a far cry from the brutal 1994 genocide that
saw over 1,000,000 people lose their lives in one ofthe most brutal acts of human cruelty. The impressive
human development, social protection and economic
environment indices of Rwanda today pay tribute to this
long path to recovery.
