Tutor bio: Lindsay has a BA Degree in Fine Art and has embarked onto an MA Fine Art course. His practice as an artist involves painting with oils to create dreamlike cityscapes that form impossible realities before the eye. His far off otherworldly landscapes feature elements of science fiction and fantasy. He has exhibited in many London galleries as well as Japan and the Far East.

English, Maths and ESOLIt is important to have strong skills in English and maths in order to progress in education, improve your prospects at work and get by in daily life. If you want to get more out of life but are worried that your English and maths skills are holding you back, we can help you reach your goals.

Functional Skills English and Maths courses can be studied as a stand alone qualification or as a stepping stone to GCSE. These courses give you practical skills for the modern world and help you get the most from life, learning and work.

Harrison completed Functional Skills Maths Level 2 and will start his PGCE in September 2019. Harrison said: “ I want to be a role model for younger generations, especially if they don’t like maths or science”

ESOL courses help you to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing. Whether you’re new to the English language or would just like to improve your existing skills, studying ESOL would be the perfect foundation to help you achieve your chosen career path.

Said Edris completed the ESOL Entry 3 and is progressing to an Access to HE course. Said was a GP in his country and is looking to retrain to be able to practice in the UK.

Tutor bio: Joyce Power Yoga and Wellbeing tutor

Having been introduced to yoga over 50 years ago as a young child and realizing its benefits at a young age in overcoming anxiety and poor health, I have studied yoga through most of my life. As an adult, I studied Psychology at University and undertook a Post-Graduate Primary School Teaching qualification. I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga over 30 years ago and have taught yoga in a mindful way since then in various settings.

LanguagesCommunicating in another language is the ideal brain train!

You can develop your language skills from complete beginner to advanced level, for work, travel and to support others within your community.

The Modern Foreign Language courses are delivered in collaboration with Ealing School of Languages. All of our tutors are native speakers and very experienced in language teaching.

British Sign Language (BSL) is an officially recognised language in its own right, with a unique grammatical structure. Using BSL will enable you to communicate with Deaf sign language users. Progression to advanced levels can also open up a range of employment opportunities to work with Deaf people.

Tutor bio: Alan Murray

Alan was born deaf and is a native British Sign Language user. He has experience in teaching BSL at all levels, training and mentoring, deaf, equality & diversity and disability training, assessing BSL learning, differentiation of curriculum and has an expertise in teaching both formal and informal BSL curriculum et al. He has qualifications in BSL Teaching including the University of Durham British Sign Language Tutor Certificate and the City Lit Signing Teacher’s Certificate, and has a Certificate in Education and a degree in Education and Training. He is a member of Institute for Learning. Additionally Alan has studied in BSL Linguistics at City University.
